Champions League Final | Istanbul or could it be moved?

75% counted and Erdoğan is on 50.8%, so it looks likely that he might secure over 50%, without needing to go to another round of votes, meaning he will maintain power. This should ensure continuity of stability in the short term, and the final still being held in Istanbul, but more Erdoğan is not good for the Turkey nor it's people.

May believe it will be a rigged vote. Erdogan is far too powerful to be voted out.

Reuters: both camps say
runoff looking likely
Reuters is reporting sources
in both President Recep
Tayyip Erdogan's ruling AKP
party and his opposition rival
Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu's CHP as
saying that based on results
so far, neither is likely to
clear the 50% threshold
needed for an outright win
With 75% of votes counted
the state-owned Anadolu
news agency has Erdoğan on
50.76% and Kilıçdaroğlu on
43.43%. The private Anka
agency also has Erdoğan
ahead, but by a much
narrower margin.

I’m reading online that the ruling party have forced the recognition of Erdogan skewed location votes first and is ordering recounts and delaying recognition of votes in opposition strongholds to make the lead look stronger than it is.

He’s now down to 50.4%… I think it’s going to be close, but not convinced Erdogan has enough to do it in round one.

Not sure if anyone has seen, or is planning to stay in Istanbul for a few days after. But Galatasaray play Fenerbache a day after the final. Istanbul be fucking carnage and one of them will win the league looking at the table now
Should be fun then

Erdogen currently ay 50% which I believe means run off in two weeks time, 87% of votes countedScreenshot 2023-05-14 at 21.00.40.png

His vote share has consistently dropped so expect he will be well below the 50% mark by the time all is done and dusted. Which means the run-off will now be 13 days before the final.

... What could possibly go wrong with that?

This is going to be a disaster, isn’t it? Any possibility of it kicking off in Turkey should be acted on instead of curiously waiting. Another UEFA shambles on the horizon.

I didn’t put the blame solely on them the other day, but I will in 14 days time if we beat Madrid and all my flights are sorted. Nothing ever changes with them, I think I could run them better and I’m thick as fuck.
I’ll be booking Wednesday too mate should we progress. Trouble is UEFA wouldn’t give a fuck about the fans if they had to move it last min.

Yep, I’ll be booking my flights as soon as the final whistle goes presuming we win. I can see this being changed and thousands being out of pocket. Thing is, UEFA will be talking to the Turkish government and they will be saying nothing to be worried. They’ve had this final pencilled in a few times already, they won’t want it changed again.

Well this is a mess. Now hearing reports that the state media agency that is giving numbers to CNN and Al Jazeera don't reflect the count by the electoral commission which has the opposition ahead and actually in with a chance of winning outright.

Who knows what's going on - anybody's guess.

Will say it again though, UEFA are shambolic because the clubs let them get away with it year after year. As soon as the teams are decided, both clubs should come out publicly to demand a commitment from UEFA to prioritise travelling fans.

I won’t be holding my breath though

Looking more and more like things are going to kick off in Turkey based on current election reports.
