Callum Doyle

Callum Doyle is solid. Seen a few brave blocks, great positioning and defence to attack football in just a few clips this season. He needs the next level. IF he can push Coventry and go up a level, then he and his brother should play on loan for a season in the Prem. They've earned the chance to stay on loan or come back.

The bookies have Luton as favourites to win the play-offs but I have a sneaking suspicion that Coventry may be able to shut out their long-ball/set-piece focussed game and grab a win. 1-0 to Coventry and another City youngster helping his loan club to promotion.

I guess whatever happens Callum will be glad when the play-offs are done. It has been a long season for him and he has done really well with over 40 appearances.

Watched the first half earlier.

Same as ever.....steady but not spectacular.......he made a sloppy start that nearly cost Coventry but then made some great passes out of defence (he has a sweet left peg) as well as a goal saving block mid half.

He is 20 in October,he is a unit but not brilliant in the air,and his pace is still his biggest achilles......he'll improve for sure, and he will make a very good living out of the game, probably at a decent Prem club, but he is not our standard and i cant see that ever being the case.

I saw Frankfurt were chasing his signature, that may be a good loan move (initially)

Just gone off with what looked like a hammy, real shame as he was off to the U20 WC after this.

It is a shame, but the kid has played a huge amount of football this season.....his hammy may have gone as a result, and this may be a blessing in disguise and a rest his young/growing body requires.

I thought he looked really good, kept the Coventry back line solid and they looked a lot worse when Panzo came on.

He’s also absolutely massive. Just looks like a completely different breed to the rest of the championship players out there, really broad shoulders and probably 6’3”+

I think there’ll be premier league clubs looking to loan him next year, and that’s the best way to see how he stacks up.

One player I've always likened CD to in my head is Harry Maguire - and now he's headed to Leicester City.

Yep,ive said the same.

And despite the slating Maguire gets,if Doyle can replicate his career he will have done far better than i currently expect.

He's still young. 2 years behind THB, in age but about 18 months in development. He's a unit which gives the impression he can't be good on the ball or cumbersome, but I will be watching his development with a manager who should know him well.

Comon the kids!
