Have to say I'm a bit pissed off that city didn't make it clear that everyone in the CS would have a crack at a ticket, they must have known.

Didn't City say the code expires only when it's sold out? I'd keep trying though just in case there are returns/tickets in baskets, etc
Pretty sure you are trying to put the code in the wrong place. It should say access code and a small box to type it into.

Because according to the City Matters guy, they issued more codes to Cup Scheme people than tickets available, so they couldn’t guarantee it.

Nobody knows. But that’s roughly the figure that seems to be generally accepted by most.
I think the City Matters guy said that approx 12,000 tickets went on sale to regular punters.

That was Budapest, not Istanbul.
UEFA do not operate the stadia.

Won’t be an issue in Istanbul, they’ll make sure there’s military presence and face scanning entry installed when the English turn up.

Too right mate. They will be getting very handsy with us, nailed on.
I get that, but given how time sensitive this is and the travel/work family arrangements needed a little guideline would have helped. They knew how many codes they had issued and who to. Wouldnt hurt to surely keep us updated as to which part of the queue were certain to get them. Looking at it, there was surely never any danger of me missing out (11K CS). I spent a fortune on flights/hotels guessing.
Not a big deal, I understand, I just dont get why this was shrouded in secrecy.

If you need to pick and choose then decide which final you’d most like to get to and register on that cup scheme only.
