Do you support the RMT?

Train WiFi by Transport for Wales:
Get on WiFi and get cut off an hour later. Try to get back on but never any joy. Try contacting customer services via their online portal (once off the bloody train of course) and get a reply two weeks later giving no information whatsoever.
Not to bad for me as I only go as far as Ludlow from Manchester, but a true pain in the arse for those going to south wales.

Have you tried reading a book on the train instead? What did we do before we had wifi everywhere? :-)

If I want to read a book then I'll read a book, but if the train is advertised as having WiFi then it should have it.
Perhaps they need a warning on their WiFi connection page "STOP!!! You have been surfing rubbish online for an hour, please pick up a book instead." - And then add "You can download one from our online library."

The main function of WiFi on trains is to check whether your connection is also late.

They are trying to move passengers to by online "smart tickets" away from using paper.

This week they suggested putting a £1 "admin charge" for anyone wishing to collect paper tickets at the station.

A lot of passengers use train WiFi to download and activated their tickets. (They shouldn't. The terms state it must be downloaded and activated before the journey) If they aren't activated they can be fined a fixed penalty of £100.

DFT are directing staff via the puppets who allegedly run each TOC to enforce this which is causing unessercery conflict on train.

The cynic in me says it's a plan to make more money for "stakeholders" over maintaining good service and staff.
 
UK media toeing the government line about greedy train drivers wanting a pay rise over the real reasons for the strikes.

Mick Whelan revealed the government hadn't talked to his union since January.

They've also not spoken to RMT since we called the dates despite reaching out for talks.

I also thought he gave away how much it rankles people like him that Mick Lynch is more articulate ( and has a grasp of the relevant facts ) than people who they see as "better" than him ( and you ) despite those people having undergone a vast and doubtless extensive education.
 
This was Johnsons Miners Strike that he bequeathed to Sunak - its unwinnable and all it does is add to info and figures for Labour to use to defeat the Tories at a GE then expose in a subsequent inquiry into Tory waste and corruption - Shapps and Harper will be crucified

Well, expensive but maybe not extensive. I bet it didn't cover labour history...
