If he can add goals to his game he will be a top 10 player in world football, he's that good. With his style of play and how he presents himself it would be so easy for him to be a bit of a maverick, someone who's much better on the ball than off it. But he puts in a shift as much as anyone else in our side. He's strong and he has a burst of acceleration, I'd like to see him take on his full-back more than he generally does as he's certainly capable.

He's exactly what England were missing in the Euro final in the loss against Italy a couple of years back.

H is far too professional these days,he'll be resting up like the others that didnt travel.

Pep having fun at the gullibles expense.

Back in training now.

The last time Pep let him have an extra break, he came back from the World Cup like a man possessed.

Hopefully this was just a well-earned rest for a player who's played a lot of football this season, and he's raring to go for the finals.

It was never, ever a penalty but overall it was a tough night for him.

Still made a good pass to Erling that he should have finished.

First game he’s not been on it since Xmas, maybe to much celebrating last weekend, he’s allowed a poor performance

No great surprise that he struggled a bit. Their plan was, fairly obviously, to cut out the pass out wide and funnel everything through the middle - and hope that sheer weight of numbers would frustrate us. And they did it fairly well, hence why Bernardo was also a bit of a non-entity in an attacking sense.
But he still worked his bollocks off. And it was never, ever a penalty.

Pep had said that Grealish did not practice for 10 days, because apparently of some niggles/minor injury issues.
So this can explain his performance tonight that was nothing like the last 3 months where he was superb.
I hope this game puts him again in rhythm and to shine in CL final.

As for the penalty no discussion needed, it was a DISGRACE of football and FA organization.

Some nice moments second half but far from his best game for us. Hope he gets his recovery sorted and a good week of training under his belt. I think their plan was to starve our wingers and they did it well - neither Jack nor Bernardo had much opportunity to get involved creatively. His lack of recent training and also probably the heat on the pitch meant he couldn't play with his usual intensity. Looked tired but hopefully the match itself will have done his fitness some good.

The penalty was the right decision by the letter of the law, but the law is bullshit. I'm glad the outcome of the match wasn't settled by that penalty.
