This is an odd feeling. Almost as if it snuck up on me subconsciously.

But, from my vantage point, taking into account, success, impact, clutchness, professionalism, availability, consistency etc. Ilkay Gundogan is the 2nd best player since the takeover.

1. Kevin Debruyne
2. Ilkay Gundogan
3. David Silva
4. Kompany
5. Yaya Toure.

Yup! I said it. And I'm not taking it back.

If he wants to stay and it’s us then we will need to do it.

If however he wants to choose his moment to leave and this could be it, then so be it.

Legend and if he holds up that CL, then that could be it.

This, just respect whatever he wishes at the end of season. If he stay good if he leaves especially after winning CL with us then thanks him for everything.

Personally i rather see him leaving City at high note where he will always be remembered playing top level creating wonderful memories like this than get criticized and builled by our fanbase where he one or two years in the future he suddenly drop in term of perfomance creating bad memory for us. You know how fickle some of our fans are, in one moment you will be praised as heroes for most of time but just one bad moment at the end will always be painted as villain for the rest of his life.

Yeah parroting what most the others said this lad deserves to stay or go on his own terms. You can’t put into words what he’s meant for this club under Pep. If he wants 3 years, give him 3 fucking years. Ilkay is a club legend of the highest order.

Haaland?

A sensational player. Probably top 5.

It just gets harder and harder to rank the players because we have had so many wonderful players in the Mansour Era.

Kun is City’s greatest ever striker and more naturally gifted than Haaland in a number of ways but Haaland has attributes Kun didn’t...

Gundo is a fantastic player, a fine wine of a player. Severely underrated by some of our supporters for a long time But on his way to legendary status. His game intelligence is second to none.

Gundo’s on fire.

Should be a no brainer to give him 3 years to be honest as he is at least someone who offers plenty off the field and as a character. It's not like when United lumbered themselves with a Wayne Rooney for way too many years who was going to be nothing but a drain on their finances

I would definitely do what it takes to keep him, and I really hope that he does sign another contract, but the speech I saw him make on TV after the end of the match yesterday, sounded a lot like a "goodbye" speech. I hope that I am wrong.

Not long ago, I was defending him against "experts changing now their tune" who claimed he was cowering and hiding behind players. I think he better leaves when he's at his best before those fickles turn back on him again.

I wouldn't say three or even two more years for every player of his age. Even very good ones. But the thing is that Gundo is one of the most football-intelligent players we've ever had. And I mean ever. He plays with his head to an amazing degree. The inevitable decline physically will be offset by that to a considerable extent.
Sign him up, City.

This, he is such an intelligent player. So skillfull.

Hoping this news tonight is genuine. And Martin Blackburn, one of the named sources, is generally seen as being very well connected at the club. The guy's experience is vital to us. Okay, he's 32. But the days of players being put out to pasture in their early 30s are a thing of the past. Elite level players look after themselves so, so much better than they used to. With careful game management, there's no reason why we couldn't get another couple of seasons out of him. Ditto KDB, who's a year younger than Ilkay.
