Champions League Final | Useful Information

Please be aware that if you have a pre-booked taxi from the airport they are not allowed/do not hold signs up with your name on.

Loads of blues last night couldn't find their cabs and we only got ours because a local helped us with a phone call.

Make sure you have the taxi companies phone number with you for when you land.

We booked our through Booking.com by the way
How much is a taxi from Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen Airport. We land at 11pm tomorrow?
And we haven't pre-booked.

I'm not sure if posted already, but these were taken yesterday by someone on final approach.
The photo with a few scattered structures and portaloos, is our fanzone!!!

Turn up there needlessly early at your own risk I would say. We should say a prayer for those on the club trips, who will be bussed there for a 2pm - 10pm 'Kettling' exercise. Not a seat in sight, and I seriously believe any older fans with any health issues could seriously suffer standing around in that deserted hovel for hours on end.

I certainly will not be entertaining that until 7.30pm and then it will only be to walk through it directly to my seat in the stadium.
I assume that it hasn't been fully done at that stage. Surely there will be more structural work, seating etc. before Saturday.

Good to know cheers. Out of interest, where did you go to get picked up? I have also booked one through booking.com

So far the Turkish people have been really friendly and helpful. If, like me you were a little apprehensive about potentially being ushered into places etc you'll be surprised.

Even at the Grand Bazaar it was my friend etc but not pushy one bit. Loads of snide Palm Angels to be had if you're that way ;)

1st impressions are that Istanbul is really decent.

We got there late last night and our taxi from SAW to Fatih cost us 700tl. It's miles cheaper using the bus but we'd had a long day travelling and wasn't arsed.
Thanks for the info mate.
Did you use the BiTaksi app or just hop in a taxi outside the airport?

If you have a hotel in Taksim area, please do everything except use their metro, it's the most complicated thing I've ever done in my life. Most of the employees don't speak English, the ticket machine is in Turkish and all in all it took me more than two hours. But I'm finally here! Anyone in the area for celebration? where are you hanging out today?

Stand by the pillars outside arrivals which are numbered 10 to 13.

There are Taxi masters outside with passes on hut dressed in jeans and tee shirts so they didn't look official to us at all.

One of them should have shouted us but he clearly wasn't arsed.

Then a local used his own phone to call the number Booking.com had given us and a phone rang 10 yards from us.

Then a half arsed lad spoke to us and summoned us our cab.

All took about 40 minutes for us and we were probably about 5 minutes from losing the cab.

sounds like it will be better just to jump in a airport taxi, as working about same price. Or maybe cheaper if don't get a tour of Istanbul :0)
booking.com trying to charge nearly £50 now

Are you convinced or just hoping? I'm not convinced! Other than loading beer and water bottles into those bars, I do not think much else will be arriving. I hope I'm wrong for the sake of the poor sods who are being dumped there at 2pm, however I fear I am not.
