Istanbul CL Final chaos | City Matters statement (p 133)

The organisation today was a disgusting fucking shambles. Uefa raked in billions from this match, no shuttle buses, inadequate metro, stewards who to a man and woman didn’t even know where the shuttle buses went from, massive queue for water then they wouldn’t let me pay with local currency. City you are brilliant, uefa you are utter cunts
 
Wankers. Utterly stupid to play it at a stadium in a field with one road in and out. Complete carnage with the buses. Took 2hrs 15 mins from the fan park to the stadium. Coming back stood like sardines in a red hot bus for 45 mins without moving at all before we eventually got out of the shit dirt park. Then took another 45mins to get back. UEFA don't give one fuck about paying fans. The ticket prices are also a joke.

On the way to the Stadium today, it took us two hours to get there, a bus without air conditioning, we sat on the floor because there was no enough seats. On the way back I thought maybe it will help if I'll wait a bit and let the buses leave, I went to drink something at fan zone, after 40 minutes there I went out to the shuttles and saw chaos that I've never seen in my life. Hundreds of buses and taxis are waiting in a huge line that seems to never end. I left the area on foot and took a taxi. I don't understand what UEFA was thinkig, did they imagine it differently? Because I ca'nt understand the logic here.

A City fan eventually dragged dragged me out of the way before I got run over. I kept shouting why should they leave when we were struggling to.

Get home safe everyone. That was a killer today and put a real dampener on the day before it even began.

Luckily we used the metro but anyone who'd had a drink would've really struggled tonight. Lack of signs and staff. Fair play, the staff we spoke to did a fantastic job but there wasn't enough of them.

Had the same on way there mate, hour queue and 2 hour drive. Thank fuck my dad suggested metro on way back but still didn't get back into town until after 2.
 
Physically and mentally fucked after that. The queues for food and drink at both the fan park and the stadium were a joke, didn’t have anything to eat for hours. Then sat on that bus for 3 and a half hours after the game, UEFA are cunts. I’ve loved Istanbul, great food, lots of history and some beautiful views. But that stadium shouldn’t be even considered as a venue. I saw numerous City fans in the wheelchairs being pushed by their carer/family through that shitty shuttle bus park, the tarmac wasn’t even set properly.
 
I got back to hotel at taksim at 3:15.
Quick shower and change then went for a beer.
Now at SAW all checked in 4 1/2 hours before my flight trying to stay awake so I don't miss it.
 
Didn't get off the ground car park until 3am....3 hours after the game. Was on a shuttle bus back to SAW airport, but the driver was completely useless and still took us a further 2 hours to get to the airport. Arrived at 5am, people were on a 6am flight out of here. I'm trying to stay awake for my 8:30 flight!
 
Absolute fucking shambles from UEFA. Having it in an athletics stadium in the middle of nowhere which needed a 2 hour bus journey or 3 trains to get there was never a good idea, then running out of beer 3 hours before kick off followed by having to queue for 90 minutes for an ridiculously overpriced cold hot dog and water while the staff were taking the piss didn’t fucking help either. The only saving grace was I ignored UEFA advice and got the metro before and after the game and was in Nevizade before 2am. Fucking good job we won or I’d be suicidal. Fuck UEFA and City are champions of Europe which makes it all worthwhile. Istanbul itself was fucking brilliant though.
 
First shuttle to the fan park which was supposed to be 1 hour 40 took about 3.5 hours as the bus driver kept fucking up as well as the traffic.

Due to this we sacked the fan park off and jumped on the shuttle to the stadium. This went at a snails pace and struggled up hill. Ultimately it broke down and we had to desert it and jump in the next shuttle that came along.

Absolutely zero organisation from the ones from the stadium. Stewards were nowhere to be seen and everybody was congregating around the Istanbul and SAW coaches. Only when a driver that walked past and said there were more further up the car park did people head in that direction.

Spent about 8 hours on them in total. Absolute fucking joke. Thank fuck we won.
 
These coaches reminded me of the titanic. Some buses people were packed together like sardines and others there was enough room for people to lie down.
