Leroy Sané

He coasted/ sulked for a full season agitating for a move. Then got injured next season and rehabilitated on our time and expense. All in all I was glad to be rid of him. Plenty talent, sulky, lazy fucker. He has no chance of Pep wanting him. The German rags can keep him ..
In his last full season he won PFA young player of the year.

I adore Sane and his goal against Liverpool was one of my all-time favorites. But unfortunately his career hasn't been the same since the ACL injury in the community shield and don't see how he fits with this current squad especially with his fee and wages.

In the last few years, Kevin de Bruyne is one of the most inconsistent players I’ve ever seen.

There are only about half a dozen players at City who aren’t inconsistent (Aké, Dias, Stones, Rodri, Gündoğan and Bernardo). Everyone else is up and down all the time.
But to be fair De bruynes's inconsistency ranges most of the time from amazing to very good .

He was injured for pretty much the whole of that season.

We do lack pace out wide (aside from Foden) and at least one or possibly two of our wide men will be leaving.

Sane and Haaland operating together could be special.

That is season when he was injured.
But I was asking about what season was when aparently Sane was sulked and agitating for a move.
Because in season before he got injured, when we won title with 98 points Sane had very good season.
If this stats can get you player that is sulked then sign him in.

I know he was injured for most of 19/20 as he got the knock in the Charity Shield, but it was from that moment onwards he had a face like a slapped arse as he thought we'd jeopardise his Bayern transfer.

"the knock in the Charity Shield"

an ACL tear that kept him out for 9 months...

He played just 11 minutes for the club after that. I'm not saying he didn't have a bad attitude but I'd be a little mardy arsed too if I was facing an entire season on the sidelines - jeopardising my dream move - at a crucial point in my career.

They weren’t shite, we were that good! Don’t start talking like the media. We make plenty of top teams look shite.
That's fair. My point being, Sané stood head and shoulders above the other Bayern players in that leg - even though we reduced them to fuck all otherwise.

I wouldn’t question his ability. I don’t recall Pep doing so, but Pep regularly questioned his application and attitude ..
To be fair, earlier in our Tr3bl3 season, Pep questioned the attitude of the whole squad & singled out several players for criticism.

He did similar the season when Fernandinho first became Captain, leading Fern to call a private meeting with the players around the Xmas, where he gave it to em straight & in no uncertain terms...

IIRC, that's when we went on a record breaking run to claw back the league.

People calling Leroy a lazy player with a bad attitude is no different to the "Oil money club who buy success & are FFP cheats who fund terrorism" narrative constantly levelled at City.

Keep repeating a false narrative enough & it'll take on a life if its own becoming the truth in some people's minds, even though these falsehoods tend to be short on any supporting evidence.

Can’t see pep taking Leroy back
Always started well at the start of the season but really didn’t hold that form for a full season.
When called out he couldn’t take the criticism and sulked which affected his game even more.
This team should keep evolving not start reminiscing like the rags.
Thanks for the memory Leroy but you wanted out and got your wish, that’s the risk you take.

Er… what does that mean, exactly?
I note in passing that a train leaves the station, gets to its terminus. And it comes back again.

By the way, I should specify that I'm never normally favourable to bringing players back who've left. Even the great Shaun W-P, it didn't really work second time around, did it? But you've got to consider circumstances, and take every case on its merit.
Anyway, this is all hypothetical. He hasn't said he wants to leave Bayern, as far as I know, and we haven't said we want him.
It is, to use a choice word, a nugatory discussion. Not to say otiose.
Would he leave Bayern on 1/3 rd of his present salary?

Because if we were remotely interested that would probably be the reality for him.
