Declan Rice

Are we in for rice to put one over Arsenal. Apparently we pull out of deal to gets rivals to overspend and impact their window buying power.

This city fan influencer came on the TalkSport this evening and started spotting this and how we are not really in for Rice but upping the price for arsenal saying it gamership?

Does anyone ACTUALLY believe this?

It would be a bizarre policy to force the price up on a player, when it also then sets the market rate, elsewhere!!

There really are some stupid fucking people out there.

I’ve been told that this isn’t even close yet

You get one Twitter report and you get loads of Twitter no nought’s get on the back of it!

IF we are in for him this will take weeks to be done and then the lad might change his mind..

I think if Rice were not English we would be looking at £60m tops.
City seem to want a core of English players and is probably why we went for Grealish at that price.
Sterling left and potentially Kyle could go either this Summer or next. Doubts about Phillips making it.
So we need to rebuild that English foundation.
Other than Bellingham and Saka who have committed elsewhere, there are not many options left. Reece James maybe but very injury prone
I'd rather win the treble than be a feeder club for England.

It won't take weeks. I spoke directly yesterday to people involved.

We haven't made this move without a firm indication Rice would first choose us.

There is no advantage to be gained being publicly snubbed in favour of a team that hasn't won a league title for two decades and never been Champions of Europe.

Added to the fact, it makes a rod for City's back then trying to sign an alternative and being quoted ridiculous figures by other clubs.

City don't reveal their hand, albeit Sullivan isn't exactly helping by briefing off the record how strong our interest is.

I think pretty much everything you’ve written there about City is incorrect.

Firstly, no-one knows whether Pep will sign another contract or not, there’s certainly no reasons why he wouldn’t do so. He’s always said he’s very happy here, and as long as he feels the board and players appreciate him he could stay even longer. As things stand that’s still the case.

Secondly, despite what Sky and the tabloids like to peddle, it’s closer to reality to say that we will expose these ‘charges’ for what they are; a desperate ploy by our red shirted rivals to try and harm us, with little evidence and no clear proof of any wrongdoing. I believe our chairman, Khaldoon when he says we will defeat this.

Having said all that, unfortunately I still think Rice will go to Arsenal because for some reason we seem to be rather complacent this transfer window, particularly regarding midfield. Would rather Arsenal than him going to those fucking cunts in Trafford though.

Being given that indication wouldn't necessarily mean anything as we've been lied to before.

I'd be surprised if he turns down the chance to work with Pep but stranger things have happened.

When I say weeks I mean announced on City website!

Kovačić not even signed yet think we let them have there holidays before we announce..

i would imagine the player and west ham themselves want things sorting out asap to plan their squad, spend the cash etc as well? Cant imagine they are difficult to deal with either compared to a lot of other clubs? Any idea if the fee is agreed at all mate?

Rice is a good solid pro, nothing flashy, but does his job well and with consistency.

Another Gareth Barry and if he's anywhere near as good he would be a superb addition.
And these players are the foundations upon which other players can deliver.
