Also Abba as a "legend" that have the catalogue and what not whether you like them or not.
 
To do what Elton did tonight you need three things :
  1. A massive catalogue of hits you can cover. The audience will know them all.
  2. a great set of musicians in the band that will be disciplined and play tight
  3. the absolute discipline to give the crowd what they wanted And not what the ego of the artist wanted
Elton delivered 1 and 2 in absolute spades. His only mistake was breaking the momentum of the concert to introduce the American wanabee. Fair enough, just class that as the concert interlude and ignore. otherwise top notch.

in another world, George Michael Would have sung Don’t let the sun go down on me as a duet and Kate Bush would have done the same with Rocket Man. Now that would have made it very very special.

All have as wide if not wider catalogues as Oasis, also at least 6 of them are better bands too

I think Coldplay are as shite as it gets but plenty seem to like it

Apart from Taylor Swift being more acoustic early in her career, I've heard nothing in her popular songs that doesn't sound like anything but basic modern pop music but again she's one of the most listened to artists in the world,so I'm sure people would enjoy it, it's just not for me.

I think people only speculated elton may be shite because of his age but nobody could say he doesn't have the material because he clearly does
