They don't though. We drop back 10 yards and they regroup and say 'OK, you're 10 yrds further back, now what are you gonna do?' teams are a lot more comfortable letting us have possession than they were at the start of the Pep project, and it shows - we don't really score 5/6 goals a game anymore.
Did you not watch last season?

Only 5 less in the league than the season before, 11 MORE than the season before that, so not too shabby especially considering we had nothing to play for in the final 3 games

No pressure on this lad, everyone is gonna be looking at him as a Gundogan replacement whether he was brought in for that reason or not

It's like people make shit up on here to get a reaction.

We scored 5 or more 5 times last season which is more than any other team in the top five European leagues.

If you include scoring 4 in a match that bumps up to 16 games which works out we scored 4 or more every 3 and a half games last season which when you look at it like that is pretty incredible

This fella has mighty big boots to fill.

Similar to how Gundogan arrived a little, Gundogan was a player Pep always admired when he was at Bayern, Kovacic is similar as he's a player Pep has been a fan of for a while.

Similar fee to what we payed Dortmund for Gundogan, similar playing style to Gundo, Gundo didn't score much at Dortmund. Kovacic doesn't score much for Chelsea.

So it's a simalr signing also Kovacic had a injury ridden season last season, like Gundogan did in his last season for Dortmund.

Think he's going to be very important for us.
Gundo has gone, Bernie might and Kev is getting on. He might not be like for like with either of them, but he does bring loads of experience to the table.
