Gabri Veiga

Ancelotti's always been a mystery to me. He's one of the most successful & dour coaches in football history, but can anyone say what Carlo's footballing style/philosophy is?

Pep - Possession, playing out from the back, 5 second regain possession rule, inverted full backs etc

Govan Puss Can - Hoofball.

Wenger - Pace, skill, power, artistry.

What's Ancelotti's? Does he just adapt his tactics to the tools he's got available?

Ancelloti is a master of managing huge egos of big stars in a team just like Zidane. They are perfect manager for Real Madrid, no need for them to be Pep a genius in tactic and philosophy of play.

He puts a huge amount of faith in his players mate

He sets them up, but pretty much gives them freedom to do what they want. Almost the opposite of Pep imo

From the little I’ve seen of him Veiga is very talented but raw. If City are looking to strengthen midfield at the level they appeared to be with Rice, this lad is nowhere near ready (yet).

This is perhaps a squad addition and not linked to us not going back in for Rice. If the lad wants a ton of game time he won’t get that here. If he wants to learn and build up from the best coach on the planet then he’ll be here…. IF City are ready to formalise interest.

Same goes for Rice, right? ;)
Same conundrum, however, remember where we have been every May in every competition. At some point, players should know this posibility is now getting close to factual.

We are a winning machine, operating at the best parameters, constantly refreshing, changing, growing.

He joins us, cool, he doesn't, his loss. Just like Rice.

And like Rice, it might be years, before he wins anything.

Not quite, Arsenal are in the Champions league and finished 2ndChelsea will be better next season after last season’s shambles. They don’t have any European football means less matches and their squad is not very well balanced. If he goes there he won’t get much game time initially anyway.

He is a footballing pragmatist. As you say he looks at what he has and makes best use. Pep, De Zerbi, are visionaries, they try and push the boundaries of how the game is played.
