I think the Rice bid was perfectly acceptable, it was higher than arsenals, on shorter terms and was probably as high as we wanted. The Arse obviously viewed that he was worth more to them, I am happy with that. As for this negotiation I am sure we are talking and not just submitting a bid for the sake of it. It may get rejected but I am sure we will go back in. What I don’t get is who leaks all these “bid” details and what they get out of it. Is it the selling club to save face? Is it the buying club to show they are trying? Anyway fingers crossed we get this over the line and then get a mid or winger in as wellI genuinely think the rice bid was an outlier and as reported was a kind of why not bid, the thought process at city seemed to be if we get him fine, if not thats okay to and maybe thats why a bid went in. We also probably underestimated the mouth on sullivan and that he wanted to play this out in the press as that was best for him and its not something that city typically do
Your morning constitutional?We have movement.
Kane was just Levy being a dick. We were blindsided by Chelsea for Cucurella who offered twice what we thought the deal was worth. Poor examples.Harry Kane? Cucurella?
Did we ever actually bid for either of those players tho, forgive me if im forgetting but i think there was a lot of press talk about prices and prices we wouldnt go above but i genuinely dont recall any actual rejected bids going in for them but like i say im probably misrememberingHarry Kane? Cucurella?
Morning coffee doing it's work?We have movement.
Not really. We bid twice for cucurella before we pulled out. THEN Chelsea came in. LevyKane was just Levi being a dick. We were blindsided by Chelsea for Cucurella who offered twice what we thought the deal was worth. Poor examples.
Oooooooh :oWe have movement.
I suspect if we'd offered £150 mill for Kane, Levy would have happily snatched our hands off, once again we made an offer that we thought was fair and walked away when we determined he was overpriced. Not really. We bid twice for cucurella before we pulled out. THEN Chelsea came in. Levy
told us Kane wasn’t for sale. Kane’s brother misled us and we bid 75+25.
I’m still hoping the coffee bit is coming to you too…Just an update on my previous post ‘we have movement’ I did indeed have to much coffee.
No I am waiting for confirmation that the news wasn’t about the training kit/sponsor. I had a text and presumed the news would be about Gvardiol. I will get confirmation.
Just don’t see City paying FDJ wage.Any possibility bernardo and de jong swap? Bernardo wanted to go for ages and he is officially married now.
Can’t see City paying even HALF of what he’s got at Barca…Any possibility bernardo and de jong swap? Bernardo wanted to go for ages and he is officially married now.
Both of those worked to our advantage. Thank you Messrs Levy & Bloom.I suspect if we'd offered £150 mill for Kane, Levi would have happily snatched our hands off, once again we made an offer that we thought was fair and walked away when we determined he was overpriced.
I've no doubt Tony Bloom had already been contacted by someone from Chelsea when we'd put our offer in, it all happened far too quickly in a small timeframe for it to be anything else.
Can’t see City paying even HALF of what he’s got at Barca…
It's not correct, it was debunked by someone earlier in the thread. I think the basic was quoted at circa £200,000+ per week.hasnt it been proven that the 750,000 a week is before tax and thats how they report it over there? We report ours after tax?
City tend to pay a lower wage but incentivIse with added bonuses. We won’t pay his wages he’s on at Barça, a crude conversion puts it at just over £400k pw! (Very crude conversion but not a million miles away). Although I suspect we’d pay nearer to £300k pw so plausible with bonuses for goals, assists, trophies won etc.hasnt it been proven that the 750,000 a week is before tax and thats how they report it over there? “Rumoured” is the key word you used. However I’m sure we would pay that, but we’d not be paying the silly numbers some like to throw out there.would he not be around Jack`s rumoured £350,000 plus bonuses?
