It must be very tempting to keep him on for a long stretch, he'll terrify anyone he faces. But we need to look after him. His injury record in his career is up and down. Short spells at a time (7 or 8 overs) would be enough.

I doubt he'll do more than 4 at a time so he can bowl several times a day and will be fit for the rest of the series. 7 or 8 will ruin him.

Too many Jim imho.
Great couple of wickets this morning and Woods was a right Jaffa.

Very English phenomenon to have a wicket keeper who can’t catch

Agreed, we also need him to expose new batsmen at the crease, make them work for it, make them play. We just need another wicket taker! Or a bit of luck

Yeah it's harsh to drop Tongue, but Wood is a more proven bowler and that bit quicker. Woakes should have played at Lords in my opinion, but Jimmy hasn't taken wickets and needs a rest so it's a logical choice. At times we've failed to bowl the right length, but Woakes will do that consistently. I see it as a much more balanced side. Pope didn't score many runs in the two tests he's played so far but adding in Jimmy and Tongue as a trio and comparing to Woakes, Wood and Moeen you'd expect a pretty similar number of runs overall.

Good start, let it continue!
I feel that they are trying to protect Toungue' s fitness rather than him being droped id have liked to have to have seen him in tandem with wood also , but we simply can't keep our fast bowlers fit .Saqib Mahmood confirmed to be out again now with a reoccurrence of his stess fracture of his back .if we had all our fast bowlers available our attack would be a far different ( and scary ) proposition
