£180 minimum for a ticket today at Lord's. Absolutely ridiculous. Average punter being totally priced out.

My first ashes game was at (The real) Old Trafford in 1989 and cost me £5 and my stepdad £10, plus you could pay at the gate!!

Mine was in 1981i think I paid two quid if I'm not mistaken. £180 is ridiculous.

So same weather conditions will apply at The Oval then I guess, where Lancs will be aiming to get the last 5 wickets to win their match, hope Surrey aren't saved by the rain

Pretty much. It's not meant to rain much today, if at all.
No real breeze at the moment, and quite cool. Two hours to go yet.

Ridiculous pricing. Supply and demand has at least something to do with it though. Back in 1989, Ashes tests didn't tend to be sell outs either here or Down Under. Even as recently as 1993 I recall the OT test - where Warne did Gatting with the ball of the century - not being a sell out. Nowadays they are and they tend to be hugely over-subscribed on top. As a comparison to those Lords prices though, I've got tickets for day 3 at Headingley for £45 a pop - albeit they're "severely restricted view" - and day 3 at Old Trafford for £84 each

Thoroughly uninspiring team selection. Stokes has admitted he wanted to play Wood so Tongue knows he isn't first choice. We may as well have picked Ahmed.

The decision not to play Foakes will cost us this series. Feel very sorry for him, not put a foot wrong & batting average of over 30 but keeps getting dropped. If he'd have taken one of those chances Bairstow dropped/missed we'd have won last week. I hope the series is still alive in a few weeks for the OT test.
