Great session by England, possibly the best of the series, but we have had a fair few decent sessions , need to keep this up for the majority of the test match

For me, Bairstow does not look comfortable at being the wicket-keeper, He looks to be late in his reactions and his leg movements from leg to off are sloppy,

He should have taken that catch from Head, Forget taking Smith a couple of balls later and trying to cover it up,
A dropped catch and a bread-and-butter catch to a wicket-keeper is a major error, We all know anybody in the Aussie team can score big runs and Head is one of them

His footwork is just not good enough, makes everything he does difficult as he is rarely in the correct position at the crucial time. Look at his footwork going down leg side shocking never going to take that catch.

Always, always play your best keeper and if he can bat then even better. They win games by not missing stumpings and dropping regulation catches. Both drops today would have been meat and drink for Foakes. His feet just don't move at all, it's akin to Haaland just standing on the penalty spot and watching cross and after cross coming in and just watching. No anticipation, no reflex movement, nothing. He isn't a test keeper and you may argue he isn't a keeper full stop. Might just about get away with it in T20 but not here.

Be akin to playing Dias as a keeper because he is better with his feet and hoping he can make a save if required and hoping that they come straight him.

Honestly, if I were given the choice between the two I’d feel aggrieved about having to choose.
It's not even close, in my opinion. If I sat down and thought about it for 10 minutes or so, I could probably come up with at least 10 names I'd put above the crybaby. And that's before I get on to music and politics!

I’m no cricketer but why the hell were his legs so so far apart ? He was almost at full stretch, how’s he gonna get his feet moving ? Just terrible, he badly needs a score

Agree with this, it’s no good having a 35-40 batting average if you drop somebody that goes on to bat 50. Completely counterproductive.

On a positive, that’s what you get when you don’t produce dead wickets hoping to get to Headingley 1-1 (that’s on the ECB) and give your attacking captain some variety in the attack, especially pace, as ever we can judge better when both teams have had a bat on it but if we can reduce them to under 250, we can literally go on the attack even if the pitch is bowler friendly

In cricket there's no one higher on the list. I'd probably give Kohli a slap and I'd love to have a swing at Ponting even now!

13 drops and a missed stumping?!!? No wonder we’re losing. We’re making it far far fucking harder than we need.
