Reading reports, it seems like Der Spiegal communicated directly with Pinto for information on specific clubs, although I would imagine different reports will claim different things

It was DerSpiegel who led the cause against City they were the ones responsible for the doctoring for some of the leaked mails that UEFA based their case on led by the very enthusiastic, only when it was City, head of the UEFA investigative chamber Yves Leterme the disgraced Belgian PM

I remember a few bits coming out on Ronaldo regarding his alleged rape/sexual assault of some woman I think it was that he’d paid her off…but the media were not interested to run with it and sort of disappeared.

They may have printed doctored emails but don't think it's been proved they were the ones doing the editing. Really should've been more fuss kicked off about this though, imo. Just like the UEFA ethics committee were supposed to be investigating the source of the leaks which we've never had the report from.

Der Spiegel were given the hard drives with all of the data on them, that gave them access to the original emails so I'd guess it was them that concatenated two of them together to give a better angle for their articles. None were edited as such from memory.

The media in this country went after Uefa for how the handled the champions league final in Paris last year, could you imagine the outcry of justice if Uefa had used doctored, stolen emails to destroy Liverpool as an organisation? No one looked at this angle as they all want Citys wings clipped as they are better than everyone else.

Der Spiegel were being sued by Bayern at the time but they quickly settled. I have always suspected the initial story was a favour to try and placate Bayern who have been one of the most vociferous clubs in slagging our owner. May have just been a random comment that set the hare running.

There’s no alternative point of view being put forward in the media as well. City are guilty and that’s it, the piece put together by @projectriver talks about 6 year statute of limitations in English law that could see this thing come to a grinding halt for the Premier League. Or if they go for the nuclear option of mass conspiracy by the club, it’s directors, it’s partners and it’s auditors, the bar the Premier League would have to jump through to prove it would be too high.

No one outside of the club realised that time limitations agreed on by Uefa would scupper their witch hunt, City were guilty and that was it. What’s going to happen when this desperate lunge by the Premier league goes tits up?

If and when it goes tits up,there’ll be a scramble to think something else up,but if we are completely cleared it’s the lasting effect that it has created in the minds of other fans that well we are still cheats and only got off as we paid them off or similar bollocks threw at us ..

Ah well we will just have to get used to winning everything and expanding our global impact.

It's a pain I know but that's life as a City fan.
