John Stones did, in fact i remember he is being told in his earlier seasons with us by Pep that John is not part of his plan anymore and he better start to considering to search a new club.

John obviously didn't want to give up and still insisting to stay in the club to prove Pep wrong. John did exactly that to become he was today.

Not saying Philips will become exactly like John but you can never be sure. Maybe Pep likes Phillips new attitude and will giving him chances when they start training in preseason.

I listened to his interview this morning, he comes across a very grounded, humble young man. This season is make or break for Kalvin, he needs a really good pre-season and let's hope he stays injury free and gets some opportunities to prove himself. He knows it won't be easy but he sounds like he is up for the fight which is good to hear.

Some people seem to spend half their time moaning about a lack of characters and relatable people in the game and the other half stalking players on their time off, trying to eyeball their BMI and fretting about how many WKDs they've had.

It's like fucking Heat magazine on here sometimes.

Clearly he has got off to a bad start with many on here, but I for one hope that he repays the faith shown in him by the club when buying him, and turns his performances around.

Obviously he has to make sure that he gets himself fit and ready to perform whenever asked, and on the face of it is not ready to deputise for Rodri, but there will be opportinities for him to show what he can do.

This place at times is pathetic with players being criticised and called all sorts of things without knowledge of what actually happens in the background.

I will be delighted if Phillips turns things around and proves people wrong.
