30m for Mahrez is still a great price.

He's 33 this season as well.
What good is 30m to us though? It'll take three times that amount to replace what Mahrez brings.

Consistently in the top 2 or 3 for goals and assists every season and is perfectly suited to our current system.

He may be 32 but his game relies on technique not pace so he could easily have 3 years left in him at this level.

I think we'd be better off keeping him to be honest.

We dont keep unhappy players when offered fair value, it could be argued that contributes to our success

Wouldn’t blame him if he wanted to move, enormous silly £££, and at an age where he is approaching one final huge pay day.

So no mahrez replacement at all if he leaves?

Replacing gundogan and mahrez with JUST kovacic after having an already extremely stretched midfield last season, with KDB's injury. Absolute recipe for disaster.

We don’t know he’s unhappy though? He’s obviously disappointed that he couldn’t quite get into the starting 11 towards the business end of the season but the ends justified the means. New season, new opportunities for him.
If he doesn’t want to go then we should all be happy with that I reckon.

If true then we never learn do we?

You just said yourself he was disappointed , if he didn't want to go he wouldn't, he isnt being pushed out of the door , he wants to start more games , fair play to him

neither McAtee or haven't yet been moved on I would imagine they will be involved at some point.

Everyone who wasn’t starting those last few games will have been disappointed. That’s football.

You said we don’t keep unhappy players. My point is that being disappointed to miss out on stating certain games doesn’t necessarily mean he’s unhappy overall.
He has the option to say no just like Nathan ake did , if he's happy he would

Spot on. Wasn’t Robben around 35 years old when he left german rags?

I’m not sure anybody on this forum knows what his thinking is just yet. He is well within his rights to listen to potential offers but it doesn’t necessarily mean he’s wanting to leave.

Alvarez, Foden and whoever the rookie is. (McAtee, Palmer, Bobb etc) will carve up those minutes. Gundos for Kova/Silva & Foden

Alvarez and foden already had minutes of their own last season. You're not getting away with making a thin squad thinner. We're playing more competitions next season and will play even more minutes. You're gonna run these players to the ground.
