Looks like City are only trying to sell the seats that are in tv camera shots. That plus now general sale there is no real appetite for this game it seems and people realise they can make a statement against the FA and we can build on this

FA are arrogant and completely underestimatimg the depth of feeling on this

Anyone bought tickets for this and NOT received the booking confirmation by email?
I can see the purchase in my account history but haven't received an email.

But recent history shows that's not the case is it? Co-ordinated fan campaigns have led to cheaper Premier League away tickets - a campaign that funnily enough started when City didn't take up their full allocation of £62 tickets at Arsenal in January 2013 and snowballed from there - and the introduction of safe standing, and neither of those were achieved with threats and violence.

There's absolutely no reason why a co-ordinated fan campaign in this instance can lead to more fan friendly kick-off times for games in future rather than having Brighton v Newcastle kicking off at 5.30pm on a Saturday for example. I mean, why not have 2 reasonably local teams playing in that time slot? This isn't just about City fans being shafted. It's about ALL football fans being shafted and if people think this is just one set of fans taking a stand at one particular game because it's a glorified pre-season friendly and therefore an easy one to get out of going to then they need to think again. It's been picked up by many major news outlets, has gained support from fans of many other clubs, and will lead to a wider discussion and an FSA-led campaign about inconvenient kick-off times in general.
I dont think the distance between Brighton and Newcastle changes if it kicks-off at 3pm Saturday. Fans set off 2.5 hours later and arrive home 2.5 hours later...if they are lucky enough to get tickets or choose to make the journey. Meanwhile, having it on TV makes it accessible to the thousands of fans who would otherwise only get to see highlights.

Agree completely on this. Whatever your view, it seems the Arsenal end will be full and our’s won’t. Checked on Arse website and it has sold out to Red Members. Get all the factors and they are local but it’s still going to look embarrassing potentially and won’t be picked up as a ‘protest’.
Lets play the Community Shield at Old Trafford every year - at 4pm/5.30pm on a sunday - and after 25 other trips in the past decade or so, lets see how many of the Traquins roll up north for the game.

Granted this scenario requires Arsenal to win stuff on a regular basis so its slightly unrealistic but the point is valid.

How many people on here hand on heart would have gone to this game anyway. Be honest it’s a part of being a successful club. We win trophies. We get more games. Stop bullying the fans who want to go. It’s city at Wembley. If you are going to enjoy looking at empty seats in our end from a bar in Manchester I think you don’t really love this team and what they have just achieved. Ok this might not go down well but I have been a blue for 50 years. So I will support my team.
You say those that are going are being bullied and then go on to (attempt to) bully those not going.
Because I am not going you seem to think I font love the team, what a weird take on it.
You are right though, I wasn't going anyway, boycott or not. I wasn't going after a shit experience at Wembley for the semi final and an even worse one for the final. If you like, I was doing a one man boycott. If we get to Wembley this season I may not go, the reason is simple, its a shit hole and the FA don't care about fans. Their greed is beyond words.
This match is unimportant and therefore the one chance to tell the greedy bastards what we think.

Whilst I agree with you, ticket sales are a miniscule amount of income. All Premier League clubs are fully self-sustainable even if they didn't sell one match ticket all season. There's too much money in the game at that level.

Fans boycotting are doing one thing and one thing only, preventing themselves from doing the one thing they love; watching City. No boycott or protest is going to do anything. The money is there, the suits will never care about us.

I'm off to Wembley but support those boycotting. Unfortunately, nothing will come of it and people in time will realise they are wasting their efforts. The only way change happens is if the head honchos are repeatedly threatened and targeted with violence and hounded out of stadiums. That's not going to happen in a civilised country like England, fortunately or unfortunately.

You're wrong, totally wrong but you're too blind to see it, as are all the others going. If our end was totally empty on that day it would send shockwaves through the fa and our club. It's not about the revenue and whether clubs are making a lot of money out of fans attending or not. Without fans football is nothing. It's reduced to a fucking FIFA computer game, as the covid lockdowns proved. A souless sterile experience nobody wants and if it continued for more than one season everybody would turn it off. This game is the perfect one to make a stand. It's being shown live around the world and is the showpiece game to herald the start of the new season. The fans that go are the reason nothing changes or ever will. They can spout any drivel they want as to why they are going, but those that do don't come on here whining when they can't make a game because the kick off is too late again, or they've missed the last train home and had to sleep on the station. As for supporting the club, why aren't they supporting us?? I've still not heard one word from them about the shambles our fans were subjected to in Istanbul, or this late kick off on a Sunday 200 miles away. Is it hard not going? Yes it is but a stand has to be taken, enough is enough.

Loads still available, been on sale an hour. Doesn't feel like this will sell out.

One Blue just been referred to as "a dickhead" for having a contrary opinion.
And that's bullying !
Hell I've/we've been told we're not real fans, we don't support the club, we should be ashamed etc eetc.im not even allowed to ding 'follow you everywhere anymore.
The shame of it is, its now turning blue against blue.

That was one individual. And while I didn't agree with calling that poster a dickhead, the poster he was addressing was expressing an opinion that doesn't bear up to scrutiny and I pointed this out, namely that he/she saying fan action through a boycott won't change anything when there are recent examples of fan action that has led to cheaper away PL tickets (by the way, many said we wouldn't achieve anything on that one either) and also safe standing being implemented.

I’ve been going since 1965 but I won’t be going because I agree with the boycott. Many fans may not have your net disposable income and will have to make hard choices so just because some are not attending don’t assume they don’t love their team and don’t assume that I don’t love my team

It's like the Miner's strike revisited!

Three of us are going and willing to fight our way through the picket line!

The laughable thing is that of those people saying we can't now sing "Follow you everywhere" the vast majority probably don't attend every single game either.

In fact, if people want an example of a grown up opinion from a fan who does attend every single game then look no further than Sean Riley's take on it. It was posted on here several pages back
