Yep; I said it earlier. Given the amount of time that was likely going to be lost to the glorious English summer, a lead of 275 was unnecessary. Declare an hour earlier, and have that extra 60 minutes bowling at them yesterday evening, when they were a mess.
 
Hugely important wicket. I just read that Bairstow fumbled it at first time of asking. Those watching this (objectivity, please) — was it quite a tough one?
Just imagine if he'd dropped it, and Labuschagne had batted through to stumps and still been there tomorrow (supposing that there is tomorrow)! The stuff of nightmares…

Don’t agree with that at all. Bairstow got the runs really quickly so took minimal time out of the game, without it we would actually be in arrears by now, and doing it put their chins to the follow and we took 4 wickets
 
Assuming the light is bad when (if) they bowl then they will use their fast bowlers and the umpires will take them straight off

He didnt look at any danger of dropping it tbf. It went up from one glove to the other as he got his balance

No problem. It's all about opinions. I still think that we could have prised out another couple with the extra time we'd have been bowling at them. Yes, we would not have had as big a lead. But we possibly could have got them out cheaper than is looking likely at the moment. And as we need the win (a draw is useless), maybe it would have been worth the gamble.
 
Will they make it out after tea? Assuming lights not going to get any better for the seamers to come back on.

Exactly we needed a lead like we got to be able to really attack with the fields last night. They’d already be ahead if we declared early. So we’d still have needed time to get the runs tomorrow. Think Stokes has got this test spot on. If the weather fucks us tomorrow there is nothing we can do about it
