I had a look at Simon Stone's article on the BBC only because of the stuff on here. To be honest I didn't see him blowing smoke up the Rag's arse. It appeared quite level headed to me.

I must be turning Rag.

He doesn’t want to give the impression he’s a United fan and a Rag.

You’re deffo not a rag jrb but I should remind you that united is always spelled with a small u please.

I note we have now got media attention for our pre season friendly yesterday - the manchester united express reports that we suffered a severe embarrassment, they manage to mention in their report that the scum won the treble in 1999, and they also managed to “regurgitate” Rodri throwing up in Jack’s mums handbag a couple of months ago. Oh how they love us

And yet Sterling got racially abused by City fans and it’s rife in the sport generally.

Perhaps what people admit to isn’t the best barometer of where we’re at with racism.
You can be black and shiite and white and shiite. If you’re playing shiite week in week or you might end up being one of the few city players in our history who gets a boo. Kerneghan got boo’d, Edghill, Bravo. I can’t think of more this time of the morning but I don’t think any City fan can be accused of calling out Sterling because of his race, just that he could be frustratingly shiite.

The media was racist against Sterling until he called it out and provided clear examples which couldn’t be argued about.

How much knowledge could he glean from a train ride? He may have spoken to a couple of fans or eavesdropped in a conversation but no way he can make that assessment, he’s just pandering to the red shirt wankers.
I think a train journey listening to hundreds of yanks talking about 'soccerball' would be anyone's worst nightmare :)

Contrast and compare how both match headlines on the main BBC Football website page were reported. And the pictures used. At least they’ve added Treble winners in the headline.

Only when you click on the City article do you get this picture.

Note. There’s no journalist attached to City‘s article. No doubt Stone is still on his TV licence funded jolly in New York?

Just be grateful the Tarquins didn't pick zebra shorts to go with that horrific shirt.

A bit off piste but we celebrated Mrs H’s 50th birthday in New York in March 2007. City were playing Blackburn in the FA Cup (we lost) so myself and my Blue friends who were on the trip found a bar to watch the game. Mrs H sat on a bar stool, the barman said, “hey madam, you English?” “Yes, City fans”, the barman replied “Jude Law was sat right there on that stool watching the Chelsea v Tottenham game (FA Cup) , he left just 2 minutes ago”. Well, Mrs H was beside herself, sitting on his stool was a consolation for not meeting an actor who she absolutely adores, even to this day. Tbh, losing that day didn’t hurt much, we expected it, who’d have thought just 4 years later we’d win the FA Cup and that would be a pre cursor to our fantastic trophy haul in the ensuing years.

I dont think there is such a thing as real media anymore, its just clickbait nonsense and opinion, media these days have stopped reporting the news and are just consistently giving their opinion on it, its just mindless drivel, endless articles and people speaking ALL the time while saying nothing, media is dead it just doesnt know it yet
