It’s no different to how we should be with Silva, pay what we want by a set date, or no deal.

Whilst I think this will get done, just because they want €100 million, doesn’t mean he’s a €100 million player.

I think we’ll agree to overpay in the end and people will be slightly disappointed by him, can honestly see our best team still having Stones/ Dias/ Ake.

However, he will offer options on all 3 of them and a great age for Pep to help him reach his potential and he will do very well.

As Pep will say he’s been brought for 5-10 years not just next season.

Trophies will always be seen as unlikely, by ”reasonable“ they probably mean things that are effectively guaranteed, such as appearances.

Be a present for my wife, when I just pay for it as I struggle to know what to get and tired of looking.

Or a bottle of Prime for my Son at the height of craze.

You can argue that I didn’t overpay as I was paying for convenience or to see my Son’s reaction etc. but I knew at the time I was paying more then what it was worth.

It happens in football all of the time, your situation means you overpay or something is worth more to you then others.

Anthony @ United is a great example, he was never worth the money but was one of a few left footed right wingers, so they have openly said they knowingly overpaid.

To be fair Anthony was available for 40m earlier in the window it was United's incompetence that ment they ended up buying him after Ajax had sold half their team.

But agree everyone overpays especially in.football and only time will tell whether it was worth overpaying at that time.
