That was the same last season too. Thankfully injuries were at a minimum. Including Rico Lewis we have about 17/18 players we can rely on.The squad is really thin.
Having a huge budget is one thing.finding the right players to compliment our brilliant squad is something else.
Or should we spend regardless of quality ?

Really ? You are stating we are told every year we have a large budget and will sign four/five players.Not sure what that has to do with what I said.
I’m implying the logic that it’s predicated on there being quality available to sign.
It’s not a dig it’s a possible answer.

Didn't tell us anything we didn't already know. Gvardiol would be a very welcome addition and more so the goal contributions lost by Mahrez/Gundo leaving aren't likely to be made up by Foden et al. Need a ready made goal scoring wide man.

I'd prefer not to. Wasn't in favour of signing him to start with, did nothing to alter my opinion of him last season and has started this campaign just as badly (even allowing for the fact they are only friendlies). Nice lad, no doubt, but I just cannot see anything there and how I've tried.time to have a conversation about Phillips. Shows nothing of value.

Usual thread bump because we losing.
Lucky with injuries last season. This season we not only lost experience in Mahrez and Gundo but massive quality tooThat was the same last season too. Thankfully injuries were at a minimum. Including Rico Lewis we have about 17/18 players we can rely on.
West Ham need a dmI really wanted Phillips to work out, but he's not shown any improvement whatsoever... No spark, no signs of development at all. It's a shame, but can't see him playing for us anymore.

that was on the board to finish the bellingham/rice signing(s), without mahrez we are two players short that are going to be very difficult to find in the market now. So, yeah, if we dont get a couple of quality players more we are going to struggle a bit more than we should next season
I mean looking at the current changes (smaller squad, lost experience) it’s fair to have a conversation about the squad overall, not just in context to today.Only for the mentally challenged.
There is definitely a lesser squad than last season here.
Still only pre-season and we are notoriously slow starters under Pep in regards to performance, maybe not so much
with results. However, I can't help but feel we are really going to miss Gundogan and Mahrez this season.
For me Kovacic was needed on top of those two as our squad was too thin last season. We still need to replace Gundogan and Mahrez.
