Josko Gvardiol

I can’t believe Madrid are not all over this lad
bellingham and perez and his obsession with mbappe at the moment. there were rumors of their long term interest, and they will need a young lcb, so it depends on mbappe i believe and whether joško will be available next year.

If this is even remotely true then I will be of the belief that txiki struggles to close deals that do not involve any type of a clause.

Sounds like a non story. There are obviously other targets if Gvardiol doesn’t come. The story is all about IF Gvardiol doesn’t happen, but there’s nothing that suggests it won’t get done

It’s a strange one where people cannot express concern until the end of the transfer window.

The same people calling ones flappers, will also be the same ones saying how well run we are on previous seasons when we identify, buy early and have them in the squad pre season.

This window so far has seen teams improve, Liverpool (our biggest threat) have a lot more quality in CM.

We where clearly in for Bellingham and Rice and have ended up with neither (it happens).

We have lost Gundogan (I like Kovatic and age profile is better, but big boots to fill). Mahrez was an exceptional player, but whilst I don’t think we had much option it leaves us short.

I can see why people feel we need 1 if not 2 more and that’s before anything with Walker/ Silva related. We are also hoping for a significant upturn in form from Phillips, which seems a long way off at present.

The Gvardiol transfer is an upgrade, but if it doesn’t happen and Laporte is happy to do another season then Ake, Dias, Akanji I’m comfortable with and Laporte as back up.

I don’t believe there is a drop off in the club, there will be as much will to win as before. I do believe we are extremely well run and will be making plans. Having Pep, Haaland and KDB is a dream and we won’t want to not make the most.

However even the best plans don’t always work and we could end up coming out of this window in a weaker position.

I believe you stand still in football you go backwards, so being weaker will impact a lot.

It’s not doubting the board and their ability, I am sure they will have made the best decisions they felt right, with the info at the time.

However, I do think there is a lot to do.

Still 2 weeks to go until the start of the season proper.

But If anyone thinks we’re going to win either the PL title or CL again after losing Mahrez and Gundogan, and only having the current team and squad, you can think again.

Revenues of £700mill according to Soriano, current transfers in and out are against player wise, and wages are a positive reduction for the club.

If we were gonna walk on this deal you gotta feel like it would’ve happened a while ago. We stopped pursuing rice after one bid was rejected so I strongly feel this is going to get done. Especially after the long standing communication between clubs this window. Kovacic commenting on it is the sealer for me

Bild, Leipzigs local jorno, Tolmie, fabrizio. even Jan aage

Have all said this deal will be done bild even going as far as to say Leipzig want it done this week....

but people believe that secret scout guy.
leipzig wanting to get this done soon makes a lot of sense, plus they need it done before august 12, they can’t wait until the last day before the bayern game obviously. and tolmie said joško believes it will be done/it is done, and he did like that ig post. i think leipzig will play friendlies on wednesday, and a big friendly at the arena on saturday so i hope this gets done quickly.

kova saying that and gaughan publishing it would be really strange if if doesn’t happen.

We have more than enough to win again. Maybe not all 3 this time around but that would be unrealistic even if we bought all the players we wanted.

No point throwing money if the players are not available. We need more creativity as we have lost a lot of goals and assists in the players you mentioned. Window is open for another month. The squad should be able to start the league confidently with the current players and win each game.

Over the season I agree but what can you do? The club have a certain amount they want to spend on certain players. The stance is professional but in terms of sporting excellence I can see why some are worried.

I have said it a lot but we don’t have a creative playmaker and if we did have a quality cam then Haaland scores mores and the wide players automatically become more effective. Gundo saved us last season.

First I said I imagine he would be pep has told the board what he wants and they have only delivered Kovacic whilst also not getting rid of players who were reported to be leaving I.e Cancelo and Laporte.
I’m saying the reason we have won all these trophies is Pep being the best manager in the world the board have let him down on a few occasions like not getting Kane and a proper left back. The reason being he is so good he can work around these problems.
Chelsea bidded €90m euros last summer and didn’t get him so with the World Cup and another year of experience in the champions league and bundesliga his price has gone up to which was quoted €100m so his price has been set and numerous reporters have said the set price.we obviously have a set price we will go to on players or we would’ve spent more to get Rice or Kane.
Yawn

Thesecretscout is not saying the deal is off is he? He just said City have "alerted their backup options IN CASE it doesn't go through". Which seems like the right move from City, even if we still hope the deal will get done, we are starting to run out of time and need alternatives even if its 90% chance of happening. Because regardless of what Bild, Leipzigs local journo, Tolmie, Fabrizio, Jan Aage have told you, the deal is obviously still not 100% done. If it was, he would be training with City and not Leipzig.

Txiki got intimidated by the German Shepherds outside Leipzig’s headquarters
They love a bit of it

Shock. Didn't see this coming. Gvardiol is a long term investment, the guy is 21 years old and could potentially secure our backline and DM position for over a decade, and we're going to walk for the sake of ten million. He's a player Pep has requested, and we shouldn't be in a position where we have to offer him alternatives; we should be giving our manager the best after what he's done for us. Our backline are superb but several of them are shockingly injury prone; bringing in this lad gives us cover all over.

As of now, this has been a fucking horrendous window, and I don't understand how anyone can think otherwise. Keeping Bernardo and getting Gvardiol will change that but I don't think we'll sign him now. By all accounts we're sat on a fucking goldmine, we need to show it and once again obliterate all others next season.
LMFAO. Amazing what twitter does to some

Agree with this, time to move of course but as it stands we are weaker than we were last season and our competitors have all currently improved their squads.
