Spent a week up in the cairngorms in february this year and bought a bottle of Dalwhinnes winter gold for nights sat in front of an open fire.
That stuff is the buisness

Not a whisky but a Bourbon, I've just ordered a bottle of Blanton's single barrel Bourbon and at £83 + £17 delivery (woke up Sunday morning with a hangover and an email telling me about my purchase) it better be the finest Bourbon the world has ever produced.

Crabbie's, the people who make the alcoholic Ginger Beer, also do a Highland malt. Normally £26. Morrison's are knocking it out for £17 atm. It's not bad

I cant be doing with Scotch...just cant do it. I love my Irish whiskies, obviously biased....i have been round quite a few but i always come back to good old standard Jamesons.

The caskmates editions are nice...but as well as Jameson i like:

Red Breast
Black Bushmills
Writers Tears
Teelings Small Batch

Have also been told by a few "experts" that anything older than 12 years is pointless...nothing really changes or improves after that

Red Breast is delightful, trouble is I can drink it like pop, its that smooth.

I holidayed on Mull at the start of September and while the visitor tours were not in operation the Tobermory distillery shop was open for business. Anyway I bought a bottle of 10 year old Ledaig and will be opening it the same day I first light our wood burning stove this winter (probably on or about my birthday mid-October).

Peaty malt + wood fire + good music on the turntable = special moment.

Had to knock this stuff on the head. Vowed to halve my alcohol intake earlier this year and this was the path of least resistance.

Love the stuff, and miss it, but it was the right thing to do. The amount of the stuff I went through in January was insane.

Think I’ll treat myself near by birthday in December though.

Common enough over here.
Helps if there’s a good draw on it.
As I said in another thread, Duggan’s in Parkgate Street was hopping and it was quite reasonably priced for both Guinness and Zero.

It's OK,I prefer J&B if going for a blend.

Penderyn is a favourite.
