The whisky thread

For the Islay fans, I'm just about to finish a Bunnahabhain (was £27, down from £35 @Sainsbury's, a few weeks back)

Lovely stuff

Not a whiskey drinker but my 88yr old dad is and I love trying to find him a new one that’s reasonably priced . £35 price limit . I will keep watching this thread

just finished the carribean cask balvennie, and the lagavulin and bunnahabhain are getting low, good job its my birthday soon :)

I've never had a Macallan, so i'm thinking the 12 YO sherry oak cask might be a good bet

do you know his preference? the regions all have very different characteristics

Whole family are Irish so have it forced down me routinely

cant stand the stuff

Maybe it will grow on me at a later age

Don’t think he has really . Last bottle I bought him was The Pogues whiskey ( that’s my indulgence) he said it was good . He’s one of those blokes who never moans and always appreciative of a whiskey

Morrison's offers tend to run out on a Sunday night, but sometimes run for more than a week, so it may still be on offer tomorrow

Penderyn Legend is down to £22. Its not fantastic, but at that price, it's well worth it
