Heart of Midlothian FC Thread

Really enjoyed that, well done the Jambos , also well done to the Hibees. A great night for the Edinburgh clubs.

It’s great to see this week, starting on Tuesday, all the wee teams upping the coefficient and helping us retain that automatic place in the CL. On behalf of everybody at Celtic, I can’t thank you enough. ;)

You are a prick . You know that Don’t you?

The other evening the Hearts bench looked like half a carton of eggs looking at an iPad; who is making the decisions? Half wondered if the iPad was an upgrade on the infamous Lithuanian fax machine.
I know it is a mental situation. The Jambos won’t give a single fuck though as long as the team are progressing.

Therein lies the rub. Hearts received a most favourable fixture card to start the season, with seven of the ‘lesser’ teams having to be played in succession in the opening games and the derby and Old Firm not seen until the end of that run in October. On top of that, they host Aberdeen, Hibs, and Celtic in the opening round, so they couldn’t have asked for it better; I find that teams in Scotland can go on a run and gain more points and confidence if they can avoid seeing either of the Old Firm for the ritual humbling every 4-5 weeks. However, Hearts have already dropped points at home to Kilmarnock, with a reportedly insipid performance, and they travel to Dundee and host Motherwell, respectively, after the two legs against PAOK, who are a much better side than Rosenborg. They should have enough to overcome Partick tomorrow, but I’ll be interested to see how many of the 21 league points they have amassed by the end of September. A lowish figure and the support won’t be long in questioning who is in control and what is happening.

Hearts have enough, they just need to turn up. I think their midweek will give them a real boost. If it doesn’t, fuck knows what will. For me they will be battling the Dons for 3rd. They have improved too, so both need to find their best form and more importantly, sustain it. Be a good scrap.

Not entirely sure they have improved significantly. The failure to qualify automatically for the group stages has bound them in financial shackles, relying once again on lower-league bargains and promising loanees. I suspect Aberdeen will also suffer from Thursday night hangovers and that over the season there will be 4-5 teams scrambling for third place and with little between them.

I think you are vastly underestimating the likes of Kilmarnock, St Mirren and possibly Motherwell. Squad wise they might not have the strength in depth but if they keep everyone fit they’ll be pushing the Edinburgh two and Aberdeen

I didnt. I took in fully their chances and dismissed them to all come behind the Dons and Hearts.
