How many points will be needed to win the league?

Posted variations of this last season, but the only managers to get 90+ points in a PL season are Pep, Klopp, Mourinho, Conte, Ferguson and Wenger. Ferguson and Wenger barely scraped it, but we are really talking about the all time greats of modern English and European football.

So to win the league you'll either need us to drop off (it could happen, but I would not bet the mortgage on it) or score 90+..

I don't think this Liverpool team are a 90+ team, but Klopp will have them looking dangerous by January. I'm glad they're out of the CL tbh for that reason. So to win the league you'll either need us to drop off or score 90+ yourself. Until Arteta or Poch or any of the others do it then, despite how talented they are, I don't think they are capable of it because it's really, really hard to do.
 
Arsenal having to deal with the champions league will make a big difference, as with Newcastle who dont have the squad depth. Liverpool an unknown quantity at this stage and can't see united being anywhere near us.
 
So far we might need less than 90, our rivals are shaky but it depends on how Pep blends in the new recruits and most of out players stay free of injuries. When Kev comes back it will be like a new signing,if we are there or thereabouts by January I am confident for a good second half of the season.

Count us (Arsenal) out, Arteta has let it get to his head, he thinks he's peak Pep after 1 good season last year, making ridiculous tactical tweaks (Partey at right back, no Gabriel, Havertz actually being anywhere near the pitch in the 1st place). By the time he figures it all out we'll be 10 points behind.

I want us to beat Chelsea’s record for least goals conceded. Quite possible we won’t have conceded after 4 games.

every season we seem to drop a point or concede a few goals against teams we really should be putting to bed (forest last season etc)
 
Mental that only three games in & nobody hasn’t dropped points, (leaving us out as not to jinx us tomorrow)!!

If anything, it only adds to our team's greatness, as simple as that. City are PL Champions (usually much more) when Liverpool had their probably greatest side of all time, Arsenal revives, United had renowned coaches and massive spendindgs, Chelsea won UCL + massive spendings.

Moreover, You have Mikel there, 3 years with City, great input for sure, its always going to be a bit of our experience. Why ignore it as it has never happened. Little nostalgy to Zinchenko as well and for some also for Jesus (idk i have a bit of wrong feeling towards him). Let them cook.

Especially since man win direct games over them all the time;D;P

He made us centurions, bar for that last minute goal it would never have happened so there will always be a place in my heart for him
 
One game at at time blues. Keep it tight at the back until the new recruits settle in then KDB will be back to see us through the run in.

Far too early for predictions. Maybe in 10 games time. Arsenal have the same vulnerabilities as last season.

Chavs might surprise a few this season.

Rags only mentioned due to cheating.

Liverpool look good albeit similar to Arsenal with the same flaws as last season but should get ironed out once new players settle.

City’s defence is the reason I am optimistic, that and the meat shield up top. Keep both areas settled and we should be ok.
 
Liverpool worry me because of how good they were and how well Klopp got them going.

The team we beat by a point the first time, that won the CL is one of the great PL teams, tragic they only have 1 to show for it :-)

We are the best PL team and have a level of consistency and performance that none can match.

Arsenal, I don’t feel are close to the standard of that Liverpool team. I always felt in every game they played they could drop points. Whereas Liverpool it felt we had to win as they will win.

So for this reason I look for Liverpool results first, we’ll see what Arsenal do as they have a good team/ squad.

I think they need a proper striker TBH
