Similar player in terms of style, though? I don't mean level-wise. The way Kovacic has been playing makes him one of the best in the world in his role. Nevertheless, Pep believes Nunes can get there with time. I don't see why not. Exciting signing.

Stylistically definitely similar, I agree. Nunes obviously nowhere near Kovacic level though. Only when Nunes has won multiple premier leagues / champions leagues like Kovacic can we even mention him in the same breath.

Nunes could improve under Pep, no doubt but even if he does he won’t get close to Kovacic passing accuracy and ball retention (Kova literally never loses the ball whereas Nunes regularly does) as he’s top 3/4 players in the world at it.

All this talk of Rodri having a rest. He’s making a rod (pun not intended) for his own back by chirping in with important goals. Makes him even more unrestable!

Yep my bad. Still shambolic for anyone to suggest Nunes is even close to Kova. Kova has won three champions leagues though as well as these…

We very rarely sign complete players, they tend to come in having shown promise, and the ability to make the step up, and then it's up to them.

I've seen very little of him, but was impressed with him against us last season, and I'd like to think Pep knows a midfielder (Phillips aside!!)

That doesn't mean that he wouldn't be a great signing for us though, does it?

Quite often you find that players like him needs to be playing with better players, otherwise his style of play may become more of a hinderence, especially at a side that'll be fighting relegation.

I think I'll take Peps word on this one.

Every time Nunes does something good once he's at City like a big defensive play, an assist, or a goal someone should either boot you in your ass, smack you upside your head, or punch you in your face...that would be poetic justice in an ideal world...
