They say there is a 5m difference and we should just up the bid to 60m well why no wolves drop to 55m then!?

Think it's dead personally and that be us done!

The three players we bought though are top notch..

As are the three we lost. Add KDB’s injury to the mix and I think we’ve had a decent window but find ourselves in a weaker position than this time last season.

It does frustrate me that city are so quick to to brag about how much money they have made from selling x,y and z academy products. It just stinks of a very insecure mindset, a desperation to be accepted & admired by the wide football community. We all know that won’t ever happen and the narrative we just spend spend spend will continue.

This transfer window hasn’t gone well and as a result we may just have to suck it up and slightly overpay for Nunes. The market has changed and we will not get worldwide acclaim for refusing to pay above our valuation. Just feels like cutting our nose to spite our face.

As it stands we haven’t got the squad capable of competing for all 4 competitions (which is clearly the clubs aim). An injury to rodri and the season could be similar to the 2019/20 campaign. We have yet another chance to make history by becoming the first side to win 4 prem titles in a row. I just don’t understand why city seemingly are willing to put that achievement in serious jeopardy by hampering pep and weakening the squad.
Sometimes a post comes on Bluemoon and I literally disagree with every single word and this is one.

Kalvin with a K please.

You know what, IF Kalvin was listed today I do think we would at the very least get our money back and if a couple of clubs wanted him, maybe even a slight profit.

That's how crazy this market has gone, Phillips is a very decent player at a certain level.

As said I have no idea about Nunes the footballer, but that irrelevant in a negotiation for a player that is not up for sale.
That's wishful thinking. Not a chance in hell we get what we paid for him. Look what we got for laporte(different position I know) a far superior player. No matter whether he's decent at a certain level or not he's totally useless to City. Unfortunately looking increasingly like we're stuck with him.

Ask yourselves is Nunes really that difference maker shall we need him in absence of Kovacic or Rodri?

Another body in is good, but not just for the sake of. Unless it’s a big name, who’s genuinely improving us, I don’t think it makes sense to buy. Decent as Nunes is, I don’t think he’s that great, he’s someone Pep can coach into becoming a top quality 8 like he’s done with them all, but for now just another profile that fits.

Agree and tbf if anyone supporting City is currently despondent about the squad they have a bit of a strange view of football imo.
The club seems to have a huge number of mard arses supporting it these days. The success we have achieved and the beautiful football we play, frankly the moaning is as weird as it is pathetic. Me? I am living the dream, although I wouldn’t swap the decades of under achievement, rather character building and makes you realise just how fucking good out football and our club is

Not sure why there’s so much crying in here. Pep has always said he likes playing with a small squad and v last season we’ve got -

Gundogan
Mahrez
Laporte

Replaced with

Kovacic
Gvardiol
Doku

I still think Nunes will come in this week. So basically that’s 1 more senior player, with the obvious downside that KDB is injured for a few months but on the upside Palmer looks capable of delivering more than last season, and MacAtee is available and capable. Cancelo I don’t count as he wasn’t here for the second half of last season.

Also the upsides of keeping Kyle, Bernardo and Ortega, who all looked like they were leaving at one stage, is huge.

Not getting the same despondent feelings as so many in here.
I think the same. I think we are arguably stronger, not weaker. This lad will complete the picture when we sign him. And of course we will.We negotiate brilliantly.

6 different midfielders not going our way this summer with £100m in our pocked if you include Gundo leaving unexpectedly.

Genuine self sabotage, we'd all be howling if it was United/Liverpool doing it.

The blokes only redeeming asset is being Peps bezzie
Were you happy that we waited 12 months for Dias even though we needed a centre back the year before and had the money in our pocket? Were you happy that we waited 12 months for Håland even though we needed a striker the year before and had the money in our pocket? Would you consider getting Wirtz in 12 months the same level of good transfer business and patience even though we have the money now?

We don’t tend to operate as a ‘shit, we need someone, oh this fucker will have to do, £60m when he’s worth £30? Yeah go on sod it!’ kind of football club in the transfer windows.

We also got Ederson for £30m when Allison and Arrizabalaga were both £70m a year later, we got Dias for £70m when van Dijk was £75m two years earlier and Maguire was £80m a year earlier, we got Rodri for £60m when we’d been looking at Jorginho for the same price and look at the difference in quality between those two players now, we got Akanji got £15m, we got Álvarez for £14m, we got the best up and coming goalscorer for the next decade in the sport for £51.2m, we got Kovačić for £25m…
