The Dippers front 5 are very good, apart from Gakpo who is nothing special imo. Defensively they are flaky as you mentioned, they need another cb and rb to challenge City.

I agree but the quality of Liverpool's defence in the past was based more on the quality of their pressing than on the quality of their defenders. If they have the legs to press like mad and are a bit lucky, they can solve many of their defensive problems over the course of the season. Plus, they can concentrate on the PL. We'll be chasing everything and Arsenal will try to go far in the CL.

Are Liverpool back? Too early to tell, but they are likely to go above 82 pts, maybe 86.

It’ll be us, the dips and the tarquins this season.

It’ll be interesting to see how the tarquins handle having a 3 horse race rather than a 2.

They’ll both get every bit of “help” going and all 3 of us will win every game v the lesser teams apart from a couple of mad results here and there.

I reckon it’ll come down to whoever wins the mini league in the games against each other.

ah yeah but you have a pretty solid idea of who you challenger is at that point! just trying to suss out which teams are in the mixed or have quality to push for the top spots. Too early for that though, as well.
Love to have the time to start analysing where the winners hit the top of the table..i remember Norwich seemed to start well in the 80's before Liverpool eventually romped home, i wonder when they started cranking it up - i honestly can't remember when...i do remember us fking it up '77 should have won the league that year - different story then..Happy Birthday skip!

Wait until Salah signs for a Saudi team in the next week and the Gooners have to play in the CL. City are running away with the PL this season.

While I don't think Spurs will challenge seriously for the title they look a much better team both under Postecoglou and without Kane and I can see them back in the top 4 at the rags expense. Liverpool will almost certainly be the biggest threat with Arsenal and Spurs competing for the North London Bottlers championship.

Winning 4 in a row would be amazing - a unique feat that no other English club has managed in 135 years of League football and the ultimate "fuck you" to the history boys.

Lot's of teams have improved since last season, but they each have problems (IMO)

Liverpool ... Defense, Squad, Thursdays.
Arsenal ... Reliable goalscorer, mentality?
Newcastle ... Bad start, CL commitments.
Rags ... The Actual Bald Fraud, Maguire/Evans, Ground might fall down.
Spurs ... Spurs.

The only real surprise this year is City with a 100% start. It's like we've gone full-throttle knowing the Club World Cup Thing might get in the way later.

Got to say I'm really confident that we'll get 4 in a row (how fookin' crazy is that to say)

We've had a pretty easy start to the season but i've been impressed with how we've played.
Very confident this season

Yep am waiting to see where we are after 10 games if we 2/3 points around 1st position we are in a great position! After those 10 games it's then look where we are at end of January!

It's still too early to tell - but we're looking like the prime candidate to win the league.

Credit to Arsenal, too. They haven't clicked yet (they played quite poorly in all 4 games), but they've got 10 points on the board. I'm interested to see how their Champions League games interfere (or not).

Different look about spurs now.
They’ve beaten Burnley Bournemouth and a totally misfiring rags team. They’ve lost Kane’s 30 goals a season and his talismanic presence in the dressing room. They’ll be lucky to finish top 6.

I'd caveat our (Arsenal) good start with the fact that 3 of our 4 games have been at the Emirates. All 4 games (Forest, Fulham, Man Utd at home, Palace away) I'd have expected us to win so I see us as 2 points below 'par' as it stands.

Next 3 league matches are away at Everton, home to Sp*rs, away at Bournemouth and 'par' is 9 points from those games as well.

After that it is home to Man City and I guess 'par' is a draw but we need to win that realistically as we'll get bukkake'd in the reverse fixture at the Etihad. After City is away at Chelsea and Newcastle with a home game against Sheffield United so a very tough 3 games out of 4 (assuming Chelsea stop being shit at some point in the near future).

Fuck me that's some big assumption right there given Chelsea seem to have found Ed woodwards manual on how to run a football club and are copying it.

Par is a draw ? We beat you home and away in the league last year and knocked you out of a cup
Oh yes you’ve won the Charity shield with a deflected equaliser in what 109 minutes then won on penalties
Ok I’ll take a draw
Just make sure you have a 15 point lead come February we only start playing properly in March
Good luck

I saw an article where Walker mentioned he'd spoken to the players about the fact they're always chasing and that they should go out and take the league by the scruff and run away with it.

Mentally the lads all seem well up for it. Rather than fatigue and a lack of interest after the treble I've seen plenty mention the only way to feel as good is to do it again, or better it.

They're bang up for it, we've started well and whilst we've had favourable fixtures we're looking in much better shape physically and tactically than we usually do at this stage of the season. Probably because we've had a proper pre-season this year.

Yes so we need to improve on that and I would doubt the bookies would have City as favourite to win at the Emirates, most likely 7/4 or something like that, probably Arsenal 5/4 and the draw similar
