Allowing Alvarez and Haaland to knit their understanding together game after game is a good strategy. Especially when you think its not costing us 1 point.

They may not be as silky a pair as Haaland &KDB or Haaland & Foden but they might become more neat with a run of more games together.

We are so lucky.

so much quality in this lad...would be a starting centre forward in nearly every other team in the league (maybe not the scousers but everyone else including Arsenal, Newcastle, Rags and spurs.

Playing out of position he still looks good

Not sure over Izak but take your point he’s very good and a steel at £14m

had to stop listening to the 93:20 pod today cuz it was pissing me off, they gave him absolutely no credit for the part he played in all of our goals and slagged him off for every misplaced pass. Gave him no credit for the movement from midfield for the first goal, for the well timed first time pass in the 3rd goal (and basically said it was all luck from a shit pass as if playing direct and quick centrally is not MEANT to cause errors) and said the penalty was "gifted" by fulham as if he didn't make a brilliant run.

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to understand that if you have an attacking midfielder that likes playing vertically, high and direct like that, it'll look "sloppy" but result in exactly those kind of quick movements which inevitably end in goals, then he's doing EVERYTHING right and exactly what he's asked to.. I think people are being too clever thinking they know better what pep wants than pep. usually love the pod but they can be a bit stubborn sometimes with players

Their underlying goal numbers are almost identical. Foden is even outperforming his xG to a better extent than Julian... but Foden's goal and shot creation numbers are more than double what Alvarez's are per 90. Alvarez's defensive numbers are better but not staggeringly so.

I love Pep and his numbers speak for themselves but I do think he treats Phil differently than others because he knows that he's a team player/City fan/academy product, etc., and is not going to kick up a fuss about things that others might.
Where did you get this breakdown from please?

It’s either him or Haaland that will win it surely, I can’t see any other possible options now that Messi has retired

Doesn't matter Messi will win it because he win World Cup.

Messi seven match performance in WC apparantly worth more than Haaland treble winning season.

If twitter traffic is any measure ... the Spanish press seems to be entertaining itself this weekend by claiming that RM will go for Julian Alvarez if the chase for Mbappe falls thru.
