That isn't the point I was answering.
Malg stated it was one unsubstantiated claim from one woman. I pointed out it isn't. It's 3. Further, you may think he should be allowed to play, united are the ones making the decision. They have to think about reputational damage. Greenwood has only just left the country and under an enormous cloud. They now have 3 woman, 2 alleging assault, one alleging assault and attempt rape. Further, there is an allegation they helped cover up one of the assaults.
If they play him the bad press will continue, if they don't they gain some breathing space.
It doesn't matter what you or me think, it's what sponsors and the money men think.
How did you feel about us playing Mendy until he was charged?

We didn’t seem to get much negative press about it?

You are correct, we didn't. Do you really think after Rachel Riley, their own female fans and the various Domestic Violence Charities made statements about Greenwood what, 2 weeks ago ? that united wouldn't get bad press ?

Of course, but until he’s actually charged with something, it’s premature, unless these people have seen the evidence.

I guess we were lucky/unlucky* that Riley doesn’t support us and throw her 2p‘s worth at Mendy.

* delete as necessary, whether Mendy still being available being an advantage or not.

There are more and more of these high profile cases that the people involved are immediately guilty. If all it takes for someone’s career to be cancelled is an allegation, then we’d all better watch out. It could happen at any time, to any of us.

Surely he should be free to play until he’s actually charged with anything?
I suspect it's damage limitation. They have always controlled the press but it looks like things are spinning out of control.

It's an eye opener that Sancho's on £350k, Anthony's on £250k and greenwood on £75k per week. Whilst Sancho may well have things going on, he's pissed off plastic pep and acted like a prat.

If they apparently knew there were already domestic abuse allegations before signing Anthony, I think slaphead's position is untenable and displays staggeringly poor judgement.

The fact that the other scumbag is earning a living in Spain whilst having his villa paid for by the rags is utterly disgusting, but no surprise.

So fees wise £75m plus £80m plus c £20m for 3 players potentially facing serious criminal charges. Reap what you sow, twats.

Yeah, it just seems a bit premature unless they‘ve seen what is alleged and/or not liked what Antony has said.

An allegation is not the same as a charge.

He’s not been charged yet, has he? How can the CPS get involved?

If footballers have to be suspended every time they're accused of something, I’ll be suggesting that their whole squad gangbanged me the night before the derby.
It’s the CPS that charges a person.

Theyve unearthed 2x baby Fletchers at City's academy.
Add that to the many other next <insert 'istree united player> son's who play/played at City's academy, and I'm sure they'll be fine with our cast off's/adding to our income for many years to come.

Funniest thing is they bought them. Fvk me, imagine being the TD & advising your club to buy your kids?

How Fletcher isn’t getting shit for his performance is beyond belief.

We didn’t know.

I’m sure the response would have been different had an interview been aired on the allegations.
I suspect that isn’t true. We’re better at keeping stuff from being in the media than the colander of a PR department at the rags.

The world has changed though. Schofield, Huw Edwards, Gylfi Siggurdsson, Wooton etc. have happened. All are guilty without trial and have been cancelled.

Well, apart from Wooton, but he had the anti-snowflakes on his side.

In all cases that are intended for court, the Police gather the evidence, and present a case file to the CPS,who then decide if there is enough to secure a conviction.
Being charged with a criminal offence means legal proceedings have been initiated against you. The decision to charge you can be made either by the police or the CPS, depending on the specifics of the case. Typically, the charging decision is made after the police conduct an initial investigation.

That would really ruin your weekend, particularly if city didn't go on to win.

I mean the fans didn’t know.

Surely until a person is charged then the employer will not take any action, as the allegations could be false. Any action could be deemed an allegation of guilt, especially for a public figure, as they say mud sticks
