If the powers that be at the swamp had an ounce of sense, they would sack tent bag and hire De Zerbi immediately.

Let's hope they never ever get an ounce of sense then.

History says that is highly unlikely , and De Zerbi seems to be a man with principles and too much football knowledge to go to that disaster area.

They've had a relatively difficult start to the season, but six points from 15 is a pitiful return (especially when you consider how fortunate they were against Wolves and, to a lesser extent, Forest). They appear to have made little progress under Ten Hag, and few of his signings have really worked out. Real had their pants down getting £70m for Casemiro. I imagine that results will improve as the fixtures get easier (Burnley, Palace, Brentford and Sheffield Utd in the league before they play us), but it's only papering over the cracks. Their problems are so deep-rooted that there is no quick fix. It's glorious to see them in this state.
There's something not right when you start two seasons on the bounce with such poor fitness levels. They seem to be way off the pace of other teams. And to compound this, everyone seems to be injured or recovering from an injury. This is at the start of the season, not after a grueling campaign of battles. Some people questioning the US tour, but other teams went out there as well and didn't come back goosed.

If your team aren't fit and up to 9 players are injured, then you're not doing it properly. There is also a mentality issue when you look at the games they have played this season. They do okay for the first 30 mins and then just drop off a cliff. Like they start off with a formation and drilled tactics, but then don't have the conditioning or will power to keep it going. Rashford not tracking back, standing with his hands on his hips. Every Brighton player stood in 5 yards of space, nobody breaking their neck trying to close them down.

There's big problems on an off the pitch that aren't necessarily connected. Ten Hag was given enough to work with, just look at the money he was given. No excuses there.

This is the response to my escalated complaint about Stone’s USA jolly, as a fan boy, watching his heroes play in half empty stadia.

Like the rest of the BBC, the Sport website and app is committed to providing value to licence fee payers.

During the football pre-season coverage we didn’t only have reporters following Manchester United. We had reporters in the USA with Chelsea, Manchester United, Newcastle, Aston Villa, Arsenal, Brighton and Wrexham.

Simon Stone covered four of these teams, with Alex Howell covering the rest.

Despite not having reporters present with all Premier League teams we still provided extensive updates – numerous each day – on every Premier League team. For example, Simon himself posted updates about Man City’s transfer news and the club’s friendly against Atletico Madrid.
We also published a full match report on City’s win on 23 July against Yokohama F Marinos as stated previously.

We hope to have assured you that we will continue to provide detailed and wide-ranging reporting and analysis of football across the Premier League and indeed across the lower divisions and internationals.

Thank you again for your feedback, which has been shared with the Sport Website team.
I imagine they can find justifiable reasons for sending out a reporter or correspondent to cover the whole club's pre season tour even if they dont do the same for all other PL clubs.. but to send a correspondent out to cover the debut of one single player in a foreign league especially considering the unsavoury circumstances regarding why Greenwood has found himself there in the first place is just bizarre.

Not bizarre but certainly disgraceful and disgusting .

Goldberg and his disciples last night, were going on about the rag's having nicked Arsenal's doctor.

Client journalism working on behalf of the rags trying to normalise him. If Greenwood rattles in a hat trick and starts playing well for his team, the unwashed raggies will want him back at the swamp specially as they haven’t started the season as well as they would have liked to.

There are big problems in that Media City online football team. A lot of poor judgements are being made. It is a pure click bait operation which is not the role of the publically-funded BBC.

Alice talks footy….
“ I told you, I told you, I told you, I said it before the game, I told you, what’s going on, what’s going on, what’s going on, what is going on….!
Smash a like on the video, see you all next game…
The trolley with the meds was obviuosly late, poor girl is not going to be unsectioned shortly

I've a feeling Burnley might do them.

I thought Ten Hag would sort them out but if it's not one thing it's another. They just seem to make players worse.

Remember that Pep wanted Maguire, Fred and Sanchez who absolutely flopped.

Sancho was framed as a game changer but is now persona non grata.

Wan Bissaka was considered to be one of the most promising young players in the country.

Casemiro started well for them but looked like an absolute shadow of his former self in the Brighton highlights.

Varane is on a retirement tour.

Donny Van de Beek is still on their books.

Onana was apparently brought in for his distribution but is already taking pelters for just not being very good at it.

I fear for Onana's back at this rate.
He doesn't seem to bend at the knees when picking the ball out of the net
