Yep. I seem to remember some serious pearl-clutching when Gary Lineker mentioned this very thing. Why is the BBC referring to them as migrants? They’re asylum applicants waiting for their claim to be processed.
This language is quite important… to put it lightly.
After the ULEZ revolt they must see it as a vote winner.Watering down environmental policies now ..... they are unable to actually DO anything or implement any policies other than fuelling hate.
We have just 'wasted' £500m on BMW then? And having got carmakers to gear up for no more internal combustion engines and build electric, they're pulling the plug on them.
I'm really shocked they've gone back on their word about another policy. Highly unlike them. Imagine thinking they're serving anyone but themselves. The ultimate cunts of self preservation.

Disgraceful from Ford.
Aligning themselves with all them other wokie liberal, Marxist, tofu-eaters in the NHS in trying to bring down the government against the will of the people.
If they don’t like it here, they can eff off back to Fordland
Absolutely no doubt that HS2 will be a white elephant if it simply goes from Birmingham to Old Oak Common in West London. They need to finish the fucking thing and take it to the city centres of the four largest cities in England like the original plan. When the government can blow £35bn in a month supporting the economy because of Trussonomics, spending £50bn over 20 years is a drop in the ocean. At the same time they need to put in decent rail links across the north linking all the major northern cities, with the focus on capacity rather than just speed, although reducing journey times in the north is also important.Have they actually delivered on anything in their 2019 manifesto? HS2 is turning into a great white elephant that only seems to be serving keeping the construction companies building it going and nobody else. Their brexit utopia of keeping the nasty darkies out of the country through being control of our own emigration is going up on numbers coming into the country. This at the same time we have a stagnant flat lining economy which will probably creak back into recession next year on top of interest rate rises and a cooling jobs market.
We have a PM in number 10 who was not elected by the public or by a member vote of his party. This is because the one they did vote for was a complete disaster. The end of this Parliament and a new government cannot come soon enough.

Austerity and pretending that managing the economy is like managing an individual’s bank account has been proven to be completely counterproductive by the succession of Tory governments who managed to almost do the impossible of hugely increasing public debt whilst hugely cutting back on spending in real terms.
Truss was right about one thing and that was the government needs to focus on growing the economy. She was completely wrong about how to do it and her ideas would have simply led to more of the same cutbacks and shrinking of the economy. Spending on big infrastructure projects is a much better way of using government resources than bribing companies not to up sticks and go elsewhere. Put in the infrastructure and a decent economic environment and they won’t need to be bribed and will invest their own money.
Would you prefer that the government continues to target an unachievable and unrealistic target just for the sake of it, and incur all the unnecessary expenditure as a result? What was it Johnson said? 'Fuck business'. These days does the Conservative party represent anyone beyond a small number of disaster capitalism ghouls and criminal grifters? It certainly doesn't appear so.
