Nottingham Forest (H) | Sat 23rd Sept | PL | Post Match Thread

Did I miss something? Thought Phillips did well when he came on. Lost the ball a couple of times but there was no one to pass to. Made some good tackles and some decent runs. With 10 against 12 he helped keep the clean sheet. Don’t get all the criticism
Sterling and FFS have left us ;-)

You know, I think we got a bit bored. It sounds a bit touched, but I really do think that.
We basically won the game at a canter in the first quarter-of-an-hour, then sort of coasted in second gear for most of the rest of the first half. Forest didn't lay so much as a glove on us, and they could have played for ten hours, with the numbers equal, and they would not have laid so much as a glove on us.
I think the team got bored. I think Rodri got bored. It was sort of, “Ok, so what do we do now? I know, let's make it artificially difficult for ourselves…”
By the way, somebody's probably already said this, but the final score should most definitely have been 3-0. Terrible miss by the Viking, I'm afraid. Oh, and at least one Forest player should have been sent off.
Never had anything against Forest. But after that rough stuff (and that was weird, wasn't it, you'd think it's the team that's a man down that would resort to that!), hope they go down.

Time for Phillips to show Pep that he’s up to the job. Although it’s not good that we’ve lost arguably our best player for the next 3 matches, there’s certainly an opportunity there for Phillips. Shit or bust time for him.

Good 3 points and clean sheet given the circumstances. They are a nasty team on and off the pitch.
