General Videogame Thread

Can’t fuckin believe it!
40 hours into starfield and I’ve hit the grav jump bug.
Was fine until I got the mission where you join up with the crimson bad guys
Just before that I installed the latest Nvidia drivers because I read it gives you dlss
Wasn’t that though as after googling it’s all over the net.
Saved all my games and reinstalled, no difference gutted.
Don’t mind the usual Bethesda bugs but this one screws the game up as you’re actually stuck in space unable to go anywhere.
Fuming.

Edit: also tried going back to a save game but as soon as you enter space it’s the same no matter how far back you go.

Not sure why so many media outlets are raving about Cyberpunk now. It was always a masterpiece after it was patched but a disaster upon launch. Strange how many were sleeping on it for the last 12 months.
 
dont think most people are but there are enough examples of this for it to be a major bug.
of course i could have just used the console command but its a big mission that i really want to do and id probably lose any achievements.
maybe its the order in which missions/quests are played but who knows.
dont know about xbox as i dont do consoles

Well tbh it had many flaws in the gameplay. The prior patches dealt with some bugs but they didn’t really alter the gameplay in any meaningful way. The 2.0 update in my eyes is the official release of the game as it was supposed to be at launch. Everything prior has been a glorified early access period.
 
I see the new incarnation of FIFA is out Friday. I rarely buy games but is likely to be about the same price everywhere for PlayStation?
 
Hit an NPC bug in Starfield at about 80 hours where I couldn't engage in conversation with them. Had to roll back to a previous save but seems Bethesda are aware of it and patching it. Just like any other Bethesda game make sure you're saving often when that save file size is getting huge.

Hit.co.uk is cheapest I can find for it for PS5.

£58.85

If you want to save money on it you could wait a few weeks.

PlayStation is generally less competitive than Xbox, due to the different model and also because their digital codes don't get put on places like CD-keys as much.

Yeah you end up getting to know a few of the regulars you cross paths with. I have ended up on a discord with about a dozen of the top 20 in the world in the Vee. A couple of F2 and F3 drivers pop on often also.

Great week this week at VIR, my YT lap is competitive, would currently be the fastest qualy lap in the world if I could recreate it in Qualy (I keep messing up and losing a couple of tenths in T14-15).

In happy news, I'm holding off Fernando Alonso with relative ease in the Vee World Champsionship as well as Reece Ushijima (who's actually a mate and a top shagger).

they've resolved the Akila City puddles in the latest patch, oh well guess ill have to buy my resources now

Good work.

Finally scraped out of rookies on the last go round OP, Pit lane to 2nd just avoiding the accidents did the trick. Now being able to see the irating graph the madness of that week really battered it from a nice gradual increase to a really nasty level and it reflected in the last splits, to the point I posted a protest for the first time. Vir looks fun though so hopefully that can crawl back up.

Yeah it’s good fun, what’s your IR now you’re out of rookies and can see it?

As you’re likely to be mid-splits at VIR, watch your arse at T1 (and the whole of sector 1 and 2 to be honest and your races will be full of nobs who have the control of Michael J Fox performing brain surgery). Take a deep wide line on lap 1 and watch your inside for them spinning or missing their braking markers.

It's bad haha. The Oulton Park hell week knocked 400 off it. Just one example, this is me on the receiving end. I could go through all the week's replays but I'd be here all night editing.
