On what basis is Jonny Bairstow still being selected? This is a strongish England team. He's not here for his wicket-keeping. That's taken care of. And he sure as hell isn't here for his batting, which has been ropey for quite some time.

He’s not played much ODI since breaking his leg, so I guess they’re seeing where he’s at, a bit like Livingstone.

It'll be interesting to see the first side picked in the world cup.

Bairstow and Root to a lesser degree will be checking the whiteboard.

Then, which seamers do you use? Assuming Rashid and Ali are fit, that leaves 2-3 seamers to bowl out of Wood, Curran, Woakes, Willey, Atkinson and Topley.

I‘s not pick Woakes in India, Atkinson is probably Wood’s understudy, so it may well be Wood, Curran and Willey.

It’s amazing that Dawson hasn’t played a lot more international cricket. Our spinning options have been poor for a while now and he can hold a bat better than most too.
