Sorry for posting so much in the thread…just spent this evening going through them all…some absolute belters in here. Very happy to hear new artists

Anybody go and see Dream Wife last night? Great live group. Like the new Black Pumas song at the moment.

Sounds good on first listen. Downloaded some of his stuff and will have a good listen.

You seem to share the highest proportion of good new music on here. I'm wondering where you hear it all?
6 music. On all day at work so if something catches my attention I'll check it out. I buy new albums every week as well

Thanks.

I'm surprised as I listen to 6Music as well but I always tend to give it a chance (on a daily basis) but then end up turning it off as they play so much shit these days. It's sounding more and more like Radio 1 to me, but I guess if you've got it on all day you will hear any gems that they also play.

6Music is excellent. No playlist and the DJ plays what they damn well want to, it's like having a box of random CDs and vinyl below your desk and just playing any old random shit from it.

Set playlist is rubbish, especially all the commercial shit in the charts these days nobody actually buys. I am always buying albums and on vinyl as well.

Often on in my flat in the evenings.

19.00-21.00, New Music Fix
Tom Ravenscroft and Deb Grant, playing all new music.

21.00-22.00, Artist in Residence
Artists picking their own choices of songs to play with discussion about the tracks and artists. Changes every week, the other week it was Johnny Marr.

22.00-00.00, Riley & Coe
Mark Riley and Gideon Coe, with live sessions from guest bands.

That is a fantastic line up, never listened to it late. I do miss VH2 and it's "Artists Choose" show, so Artist in Residence is a good way to fill the gap right there.

You can listen to the shows back as well and don’t have to listen at the time (people are often busy in the evenings or watching footy/tele).

Johnny Marr’s 6 shows are still available for 10 days

Next few; it’s Idles next week and Yeah Yeah Yeahs the week after.

Two brilliant bands!. Saw Idles support Foo Fighters once.

A couple below that have come up in discussion in this week's Irish theme playlist thread, that have new material.

My feelings on youtube links (in particular without description) are known, but it seems the thing on this thread, so will try respectfully blend in.

Sprints - Up and Commer,
new album on its way, a few songs being drip-fed. Previous EPs quite good.

Chewie (formerly known as Chewing on Tinfoil), new album Inarticulate out after a bit of a hiatus.

Turns out Ash have a new album out too, not listened, only noticed through mention.

Apologies as I posted this in the DJ thread, but thought many wouldn’t see it….here’s a new mix I have done the other night….all fairly new tunes, except 2 or 3. Deep, jackin house mix…if that’s your sort of thing…

loving this. New Sampha album, came out last week. The guy is at the top of his game:

Pretty jealous. I’ve only recently come to appreciate them and was slow off the mark when tickets went on sale
Was recently clearing stuff from my garage and found an old calculator from my school days...probably circa 90/91...with Slowdive, Chapterhouse, Ride, Catherine Wheel, Curve etc graffitti'd all over it :-)
