I see the BBC are reporting that we have found two of the individuals who were doing the chanting about Charlton's death. Amazing that we can find two individuals within 5 days isn't it? I wonder where the individuals who injured the young girl and the ones who attacked our coach are?

"Manchester City have released a statement regarding the fans who were heard singing offensive chants following the death of Sir Bobby Charlton at the weekend.

“Manchester City can confirm that two minors have been identified in connection with the vile chanting heard at the Etihad Stadium during half-time of last weekend’s fixture against Brighton & Hove Albion.

"The individuals in question have subsequently been suspended from attending all home or away fixtures and their details have been shared with Greater Manchester Police who are investigating the matter.

"Following the conclusion of Greater Manchester Police’s ongoing investigation, the individuals will be subject to the Club’s official sanctions and bans process.”"
If its a lifetime ban for 2 minors that's completely over the top and not aligned with a progressive society.
What about rehabilitation ffs

And crime doesn't solve itself you know.....

Maybe when they've investigated minors singing tasteless songs, perhaps they'll come round and see me about my burglary.

Whilst i think they were knobs a life time ban is ridiculous.

Ffs the dippers would just move them to another part of the stadium!

Shearer on 5 live just now:-
"They have done things the right way here at Newcastle. They have been very shrewd in the transfer market, unlike Manchester City."

WTAF!
It's like his comments on Mario Balotelli when he celebrated his goal in the Euros by removing his shirt and flexing his muscles.

"Come back when you've won something."

Well at that point, Mario had won 3 Serie A titles, 1 Coppa Italia, the Champions League, 1 Premier League and 1 FA Cup. Alan, by comparison, won 1 Premier League in his career.

Someone please correct me but didn’t Newcastle pay a world record fee for him for a striker?

Not yet. Passed to the police and then "Following the conclusion of Greater Manchester Police’s ongoing investigation, the individuals will be subject to the Club’s official sanctions and bans process." according to the statement made by the club.

Yeah, that's what I thought. So people jumping to conclusions that it's a life ban

@Bald fraud and @give it to gordon
I don't think it said a lifetime ban. I just quoted what was on the BBC website.

A lifetime ban, especially for minors, which I take to be under 18, would be over the top in my opinion and education and a lesser ban more appropriate.

However they must have been taught that chant/song by someone and I don't think from all I've read that it was only 2 supporters. But who am I to know these things. Let's hope they get to the bottom of it all.

EDIT; sorry @Bald fraud just realised you didn't mention lifetime ban. Apologies.

I don’t go on Twitter but has anyone of our human rights loving ‘journalists’ commented on garnacho’s gorilla tweet posted on here earlier?

Nope! We know if it was one of our players they'd be half dozen articles! From and centre on the BBC sky sports having it on a loop! This what stinks about the media they pick and choose what to go big on! Like the chant by a couple of city fans which got reported in a way that it looked like everyone at city were chanted it! The red shirts have the media in their pockets!

First I heard of it was Liverpool fans singing it at Anfield v Rangers in the CL shortly after the Queen died - "Lizzie in a box" and have got a clip of it somewhere.

Liverpool fans continued with it at Ibrox and quite a few others picked up on it including United fans about a Glazer.

Not them but a number of outlets stating he could face a ban for a breach of social media behaviour.

Just checked. Bernardo got a ban and £50000 fine for his Mendy tweet.
