Two minors suspended by club for offensive chanting at Brighton game | 17 year old charged by GMP (p29)

Pathetic that charges and the like are being mentioned. How about a chance for a proper education and present their learning to an audience later. Public order offences like this are exactly the kind of laws that are robbing us of thoughts, discussions and meeting stupid behaviour with over-the-top punishments. 17 years old or not, below 18 is a minor. Teach 'em, don't hang 'em...

This country has been built on far worse gallow's humour and taunting. Some eejits say summat stupid, and rather than our own call 'em out or deal with it in house, videos and reports to Police make a national issue out of a moment of madness and pathetic stupidity. What annoys me more is that I've heard grown men shouting worse since, joking about worse since, from other clubs and our own... am I going to call everyone out? No. But, I will pick my battles. This kind of thing will lead to fans fighting fans. Now, if they make an example of a few idiots who have a chance to be publicly educated and learn their errors, perhaps we'll have less newspapers making out that we liquidated a culture.

They’re obviously fucking idiots, and deserve some kind of ban from the club. They’re young and will hopefully learn their lesson. Police action seems a bit authoritarian/unnecessary though, and also inconsistent.

Publicity once it was all over social media club and probably Police have to be seen to act, he was a nob singing that however idiots in drink do dumb things. He's got whoever posted it online to thank for the shit he's got himself into.

Poor kids, I feel sorry for em. A moment of high spirited stupidity leads to a woke witch hunt, City shamefully leaping at the opportunity to virtue signal and GMP delighted to have the chance to arrest some soft targets for a non criminal offence rather than having to deal with the actual scum making our streets a dangerous place to live.

I’m sure Bobby Charlton himself would have offered to give em a half hearted clip round the earhole and a little bit of a telling off had he seen them singing a song about a dead footballer when he was alive.

The media, club, Premier league and now police frenzy over this has been utterly ridiculous. 2 kids singing a stupid song literally a minute after the news broke is not a newsworthy story and the police and courts really shouldn’t be wasting their time with this. It was probably nipped in the bud by older lads at the game and that should have been the end of it. Some idiot then decides to post footage of it and it’s reported like 1000 fans were bouncing up and down singing it. Crackers.
 
Hope they learn a lesson. They would hopefully have grown out of it anyway without being up before the beak. To be honest It’s the kind of thing I’d have done at that age. I used to sing Munich stuff when I was 17 but can’t stand to hear it now especially after one of our true greats died in it. Death mocking is pretty shit all round really.
 
This is only in the media 'cos it's City. Simple as that. And because it's City it's gonna go the full course and beyond. Wouldn't have been given a phrase or syllable had it been any other club. We know what the media are like and we should make sure we as fans don't give 'em a spark from which they will undoubtedly start a bush fire.

Daft giddy fucking kids, we were all that once, especially after a drink, silly pillocks needed a stern telling off and maybe a short term ban or a warning about future behaviour. Just heard thousands of spurs fans singing “Yiddos” - will they be pursued all over the internet considering they’ve been regularly warned about it? Will they fuck. Will scousers be prosecuted over bricking coaches, stoning young girls, SPITTING IN YOUNG GIRLS FACES etc? Will they fuck. Double fucking standards every time. Reffed to different standards, policed to different standards
