The writting was shite and really meant what shpuld have been a good run from a decemt actress into a forgettable run.
Capaldi was by far one of the best doctors charactor wise, but was given amatuerish writing to work with in many episodes
Chibnall as show runner was a massive error, especially as every episode he wrote before the job wa given him was crap and lets be honest bar the first broadchurch his tv credits are dire

Some of Chibnall's earlier fun ones were pretty good, he'd written about 10 or so I think. Not sure if any were just him.
I think he has a writer credit on all of his run - that's got to be a bad idea when combined with being showrunner.

Jodie was let down by bad writing and the BBC. Chibnall has some great ideas but didn't really put them into action properly. For example the timeless child arc would have worked had it been The Master.It appeared to suffer from bad writing but I could only manage a few Jodie Whittaker episodes before tuning off.

Flux was supposed to be centered on Captain Jack but the BBC blacklisted Barrowman leading to the rushed rewrite of the majority of the plot.
Chibnall slanted to please some of the fans as well. A minority gagging for a love story between The Doctor and Yasmin. He tried to RTD it and failed.I hadn't heard about the latter (Flux) but it shows a repeating problem with recent seasons - they keep going back to something that worked years beforehand with different Doctors. I've mentioned the endless incarnations of Rose Tyler, where RTD's sappiness turned whole seasons into Rose's show, not the Doctor's.
Barrowman's character was a Torchwood character and was just about okay in that world, but is better as a lead in a mad world, than a secondary lead who's an immortal character and who's already showed up as the Face of Bo... where's the threat? Flux was just a terrible mess by the end.
The Timeless Child thing might have been interesting but it didn't seem to have an endpoint to aim for. It just petered out in confusion.
Simm was a decent Master until he turned into a giggling idiot. I haven't liked any of the other recent Masters (apart from Jacobi!).

Nor do I.I had no problem with what he said in essence and actually learned something interesting about the trope linking disability with evil.
But the way RTD has responded to polite fans just trying to engage with him about the topic is, in my view, totally unacceptable and completely indicative of a man who has been far too long without anyone questioning his views.
He doesn't seem to even be acknowledging that the disabled community is very much split about whether or not he made the right call - he's only interested in the half that agree with him.

It almost worked, and at least didn't get into the doe-eyed gazes that RTD turns things into. It could have done with Graham still being around - I didn't mind the John Bishop character, but I did have to look up who the other companion was!
I agree - I expect there to be drenching with sickly callbacks. Story not working? Chuck in another cameo, no, two cameos!

The Davros being not in a dalek case is, I think unnecessary. If you want to do that, don't use Davros.
Certainly the urge to subvert/trash Classic Who is baffling (the episode when a dalek spliced himself with a human was baffling in the logic failure), and smacks of being clever-clever for the sake of it. Still, at least we get Bonnie Langford back as Mel, that'll help.

I never saw the character of Davros as disabled. I saw him as strong minded scientist who experimented on himself to create the Daleks.
I like a lot of his writing. I feel as though his ego has got the better of him. Bit like Tennant's doctor towards the end.

I don't recall anything about UNIT, but have an expectation that she'll be better far more tolerable than the original Mel incarnation.
