PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

Listened to the rest is football podcast recently where they talked about the Everton case and ours. I know the two are different, but it didn’t fill me with too much confidence that we will get off lightly. Obviously hope I am wrong.
I'll save you the trouble...

In that case I guess ignoring our evidence would be a failure of due process?
I guess we could try should we feel strongly enough about it, but its probably better to just wait it out and trust the process.

There are KCs all over this. They aren’t likely to not follow due process.

No one has a clue what will happen. Some posters are more positive than others.

Ultimately, every single one of us need to travel their own path to cope with what might be years of waiting.

There’ll be no leaks, just a verdict when it’s reached.

Some need to think of the worst case scenario to cope, whereas others will steadfastly ignore any negative thoughts and believe the club when they say that we’re wholeheartedly innocent.

Neither is wrong; they’re just different coping mechanisms.

There will be plenty of leaks but they may not be true just like CAS. Many in the media were being leaked how City didn’t stand a chance & UEFA had far more evidence. They made fools of the journalists but the likes of Parry & Gill had inflicted damage on City.

The Everton case was also being leaked clearly but the difference in all these is it’s not the prem or UEFA making the judgement.

I'm replying to my own frickin post here I'm so pissed. Every blue needs to WAKE UP. There is no positive outcome from the PL Charges, they will absolutely shaft us. We need to move away from the toxic protectionist cartel. Bring Chelsea, West Ham, Villa, Newcastle, Leeds on board maybe with Celtic and Rangers etc to create a new league with our own sponsors and media deals. Stop hoping and praying for some bull shit outcome "just non cooperation". Oh please don't relegate us mighty red tops. I would LOVE to see Khaldoon telling the PL to take their 1!5 charges and shove them so far up their red shirts arse holes that they need a colonoscpy to locate them. WAKE UP CITY....
unless the PL back down and withdraw the charges then i think this may happen and there are a few more clubs that can be added to your list, there is no way city will be playing in lg1 or lg2,we may even get a guest invite somwhere for a season while things get sorted, the PL would self destruct if there was an exodus of those clubs you mention

Were there any leaks from CAS?

There was loads of press nonsense, but I can’t remember anything actually from CAS. I might be wrong though. I don’t stress in this period as there’s nothing that can be done.

Parry and Gill had no ears in CAS.

The Everton case is 100% different to ours. All comparisons aren’t relevant.

I am not a lawyer, but it has been previously mentioned on here that there is only scope to appeal to the English courts in exceptional circumstances.
If that's the case it's going to get really ugly...or uglier I should say. It is clear from the Everton judgement and the people selected to the IC that it is a long way from being "independant" and they can pretty much take a free hit with little scope for us to appeal. That's the big worry for me.

I wouldn’t be too sure about no leaks

There was definitely conversations between UEFA insiders & by that people who have served & represented UEFA & their trusted journalists. The New York Post was very confident with what they were hearing & their disdain turned to the UEFA prosecutor’s failing to secure the conviction.

I’d call it leaks.

It's more likely to be City than the PL, if anyone is delaying the case. City are producing mountains of evidence. The PL isn't.

The PL wanted Everton's case finalising during the 2022/23 season, and that was after they brought charges in March 2023. Totally unrealistic timescales requested by the PL, and unfair to Everton, and the commission told them so.

Given that Everton only had 9 charges to answer, and we have 115 (or 131 using a different method of counting), our case will take much longer to gather all the evidence, and much longer for it to be examined.

There is no shortcut to the process, unless the PL drop the frivolous charges and concentrate on the substantive ones.

And there you have the point. If the PL had wanted a quick resolution, they should have handled the whole process differently, rather than re-litigating the CAS issues.

But they went the 115 charge route so now everyone just has to suck it up until it's finished.

Idiots.

Between February after the original UEFA sentence and the CAS result in July?

It does make for a good story, but since the PL investigation started and now, all we have seen is a leaked top sheet of a court showing that there was a case ongoing and then the confirmation that there are 115 charges levied against us.

Is there anything else substantive out there about this case?

Why is it that I'm feeling like there is a lot less optimism about these charges than there was 8 months ago?

Also, how can it be a breach of rules to take a club that was relegation fodder and make them one of the top two or three most profitable clubs in the world?

I just hope when Pep finally leaves (god forbid) I hope he remembers how he's been treated by the authorities and press in this country when they try to get him to manage England.
I hope he tells them where to stick it.

All the leaks came from UEFA. WE parried them away (pun intended).

When Parry worked for the dippers, Tariq Panja now of the NY Times worked for the MEN covering the NW. Parry was a major contact.
Just sayin’.

If we have the evidence that we are innocent, then why can we not take the prem on in the law courts, on the grounds of not allowing us to conduct our business in the UK in a honest and lawful manner. Restriction of trade type of thing. Victimisation, racism, slander. Too much shit is out there for it not to be anything else. Apart from us and Martin Samuel not one person other than those employed by the club directly speaks out on our behalf. Not anyone dare bite the hand that feeds them. I find it strange, but even though we blame the red tops, it's the Prem who are pulling the strings of every media outlet on this planet.
