Luton Town (A) | PL | Post Match Thread

Kovacic looks way off pace. Can’t do more than win a must win game but it never felt comfortable did it? Ref a joke again

I went on the Match thread and came off within a couple of minutes because I was convinced we must be losing 6-0!
So from then on I just checked the BBC website which, for a change, was pretty neutral. There I found we were only 1-0 down. Then I checked later and found we were 1-2 up!! :-)
This is it Eccles. People say just scroll past it but it completely ruins it for folk trying to keep up with the game that aren’t watching or listening. I know moderating this place must be hard but something needs doing about that cesspit of a place

That match made we wonder how good a player Ross Barkley could have been with the right attitude/work rate and manager.
That bit of skill where he took four of our players out of the game in the build-up to their goal was special. Made a chance for himself with some great close control in the second half as well.

I thought his spell at Chelsea would've completely finished him as a player but credit to him, seems like he's managed to recover some of the form he showed early in his career.

We are being refereed to a different standard than Liverpool. Luton were an utter fucking disgrace today, typified by the shocking and pre-meditated assault on Foden in the second half. Bernardo had a foul throw-in given against him when he took a perfectly legal throw-in. Ever since that bad decision against Spurs, the Dippers have been airlifted to victory by decisions. City, on the other hand, are on the end of calls that would never be given against Liverpool.
Your post sums it all up perfectly,if we do win the title pep will hail it as the biggest achievement I’d go as far as saying it would even run the achievement of the treble close,as he knows what’s going on ..

We need to buy a quality left back and stop fuckin about! Gvardiol IS NOT and NEVER will be one. I don't know what's going on with Paquetas charges but if he was here instead of Nunez, then we'd have a damn site more points on the board. The subs bench today was terrible for attacking options and we need quality additions. So happy with 3 points and Luton can go to hell! Filthy bastards, I hope they get dry bummed off everybody exept the red shit heads.

It would help greatly if people report anyone they think is ruining the matchday threads so that we can deal with them. The threads are so fast moving that it's impossible for us to keep up with it in real time.

I along with some others who have posted we are reffed differently to every other team that’s a fact,it’s not incompetence it’s deliberate..
It's part of the systems they've got in place.

Who was it? It might have been Richard Masters not sure. Some CEO of the premier league that proudly announced that they've put measures in place to ensure that the league remains competitive and a new name appears on the trophy each season.

We played well today, controlled the game and got a vital, deserved win.

We started really positively and created a few chances and played some nice football especially as they had everyone behind the ball.
I did think we lacked creativity down the flanks especially first half, Walker was offering nothing and i was surprised Gvardiol was left back rather than Ake and i thought we looked a lot better when he went there second half.
I was happy with our play but that was shite defending for their goal. Walker was just ball watching and Ederson could've at least made an effort.

We obviously got a bollocking at halftime because we came out second half and tore into them. Their keeper made a great save from Dias and then Bernie scored a great goal and another good move produced the winner.

The ref was a joke today.
He let them get away with all sorts, that Lockyer was fouling all game and Brown was lucky to stay on the pitch for the challenge on Foden and yet he never even got booked.

Rodri was brilliant all game and Foden, Bernie and Ake had really good games.
The others played well but i thought Walker was poor overall.

I've watched Luton against all the top teams now and we've played the best against them.
It was a tough game, which i thought it would be because of our recent form, but we needed the win and got it, so i'm happy!

Much better performance than our last outing. Over all we controlled the game quite well, they only really threatened in the last 10 mins, except of course from the goal after all that endless possession. I really would like to keep a clean sheet at some point, hopefully in the not too distant future.
We are still taking an age to actually get the ball in the penalty box, we seem to have forgotten how to break.
I was irritated that their player stayed on the pitch for a challenge that was reviewed for a possible red and thanks to the vagries of the system didn't even get a yellow. Immediately afterwards Rodri made a fairly innocuous foul and got yellow carded.

They basically need locked whenever we go a goal down or struggle to score. It's hard to tell who are actually blues sometimes. It does seem worse this time of year and generally hits low over Xmas - new year. Not sure if this is because folk are more festive (pissed), the team generally hits top form second half of the season, or just that half the posters in the matchday threads are rags/ dippers
