Luton Town (A) | PL | Post Match Thread

I agree with you but family who support Utd think the refs are against them, mate at work supports Liverpool is convinced the whole system is set up just to fuck them over n my cousin n another friend who both support Arsenal are adamant that City get all the favourable decisions. What is the truth beyond our own bias as fans? I'm not sure as I was sure these fuckers are out to fuck us over but fans of these other teams would have you believe it's the other way around.
So does your dipper mate think Ayew deserved a red yesterday?

I just wish he'd restrain himself a little. Some of his yellows are harsh but just don't give the refs the option.
He definitely seems to be penalised most.
Bernardo and Alvarez pull back players a lot but seem to avoid yellows

All about the position on the pitch. It was one thing Fernandinho was an absolute master at, evading the first yellow.

Even had Luton fans in with us cheering their goal in our end- that was the kick off at the back of block G.

2 amrican boys - "we cod ove gone to any Maain Ciddy match we waaanned, but we picked Ciddy at the Kennie for our first game" being very loud about it wanting a medal.

Aye…spotted that a couple of rows back from us.

The two lads looked shell-shocked with the fella taking offence to them clapping & cheering the home goal - was that you bearing your teeth :-)

Stewards seemed to eventually calm things down & escort the lads out of the away end.

The result was just the ticket today.

Happy with that.

It’s so easy to get caught up in the moment and it’s even easier to get sucked into the online world surrounding city.

The club has went way above expectations. Yes we have maybe hit a bit of a downturn in performances but no one is going to tell me those players don’t care. They have taken us to the very top of world football and pissed on the rags 99 chips. I have seen enough today to be happy that although we are not setting the world alight we have enough good characters to see us through the difficult moments.

Recruiting needs to improve tho. Maybe give pep a more finished article to help him and the team. Midfield needs a proper upgrade to mix with the good players.

Don’t like to single out many but the new players have a lot to live up to. Maybe an impossible task for some?

Anyway, glad to see us show some much needed metal today. Bernie and Jack stood up and took the goals well.

Fucking joke, I never used to think this way but if you're ground ain't good enough you shouldn't be allowed in.

When watching replays of a VAR incident first half it was clear there where no decent camera angles to study the incident. Fuckin joke that games will be reffed differently at their ground (same as others we could mention actually)
Disagree with you on both your points.
If their ground is OK re: safety, then it shouldn't matter whether it has the capacity of Wembley or Luton

On the second point, that was a VAR or referee cop out.
Just like the Romero incident in the Spurs match , there was sufficient video evidence to make a decision.

Just a note about Gvardiol. He really has to do better stopping crosses from the left. He gives the wide player too much space - He needs to be a yard closer I think - this is the 3rd or 4th occasion a dangerous cross has come in that shouldn't have.

Really genuinely relieved for the win today, it was ugly but got the job done.
They are like a 2023 version of Wimbledon, hard working and organized but also masters of the dark arts, tactical fouling, diving, cheating and feigning injury. And 45 yr old Roshhh Barkley would purr in our midfield

We'll have to disagree but having that many empty seats as segregation because the ground isn't big enough for a decent away following is mad.

The incident was in the first half and you couldn't see F all, think it might have been potential hand ball, can't remember now.

He was, until that rugrat Neville highlighted his "professional fouls", as if he was the first ever player to do this ?
Ginger Porker did it for a very long time for MUFC, but apparently, he didn't know how to tackle ?
Carragher was also a serial offender for the blocking/obstructing foul - but he was just doing his job ?
Rodri, unfortunately, does have red-mist moments though...

Yeah, Rodri isn’t subtle with it or gets his timing right. You can tell the ones he does out of annoyance, whereas Fernandinho was always a calculated decision and then done in a way to minimise the chances of getting a yellow.

Gvardiol is a Rolls Royce of a player. The fans who moan about him remind me of the ones who failed to see just how brilliant from the off Rodri was. I said Rodri was brilliant after his first few games - incredible passing stats - but some fans had a blind spot. Gvardiol is an incredible player.
