Kalvin Phillips

Nice gesture for our player to give that penalty spot for Philips, really show good character the whole team are unlike some of our so called fans.
Yep.

He's a City player who's had appalling luck with injury, and he's struggled to find his feet, but pleased for him in this game. Solid enough, and glad he took the penalty.

Just a little lapse in concentration for their goal, but that can happen to the best players. It wasn't a massive mistake, but hopefully he'll learn from that and work on it. Difficult in training, but it will come if/when he gets more game time.

I reckon his deal is already sorted. Gone in Jan.

He was average for me. Happy for him, and what a well-taken penalty that was, but it would be best for both parties to part ways in January.

I still think he need to move out from City and join the club that suit him well tactically. So good luck for him in the next club (But not against City ofc)

Good for him to get on the scoresheet and clearly he is liked in the dressing room, but he is just so so far off the standard required unfortunately.

Quite clearly very popular in the squad and chuffed to see him score. Shame it's not worked out for him and I wish him well in the future.

Midfield had tired for 5-10 minutes before Kovacic was withdrawn and both he and Phillips were flagging. He needs the exposure so had to stay on. He should have been more switched on at their first goal, but the ball should also have been better protected up the park before then. Harbour no ill will to him and hope he goes to Italy on loan.

He seemed kind of lost at times. Like you can see the confidence has just been drained from him completely. I hate seeing it, and it was great that they gave him the penalty, which he nailed.

I really hope he gets a fresh start somewhere and finds his form again.

Did ok tonight, aside from not tracking back quickly enough on their first goal.
I think that’s been a regular thing with him. Probably suits England better as Southgate is so defensive. With the way we play currently he just isn’t quick enough and dithers on the ball a bit too long. Hopefully he catches a break at his next club and stays injury free.
