Parents have to take some responsibility. If they can’t name the murderers name the parents. They must take some responsibility for their offsprings actions.

I’m normally a big believer in the ‘rehabilitation of offenders act’, but every now and then, a case comes along which really shakes that belief, this is one of them, pure fuckin evil how they went about luring this young girl in and it’s difficult to ever believe they can go on to become people who can be let back out into society.

R.I.P Brianna

Hope the judge does the right thing and names these two pieces of shit.

I have nothing but respect for the victims mother. To speak like that after what she has gone through. Just wow.

I remember the murder of Sophie Lancaster at the hands of thugs because she was a goth ( They'd have murdered anyone really), it got me thinking at the time how does evil find evil or is it in all of us?

RIP Brianna and I hope your killers rot in hell if there is one.
I remember the BBC drama about Sophie and her boyfriend, “Murdered for being different” a tough and harrowing watch but shows the inhumanity some people are capable of.

The murderers of Brianna are on a par with the most heinous killers that have walked this planet, I’m in agreement with Dirty Harry (poster on here) who said he’s normally in favour of rehabilitating those found guilty of crimes, especially young people who have made mistakes but absolutely not in this case, these are warped and twisted murderers who are indelibly psychotic.

From the updates on MUEN looks like they will be named but perhaps not until they reach 18 in 2025.

25 years minimum surely but because of their ages unfortunately I think it could be 20

Just watched one of the parent's speeches outside the courtroom which was, of course, heartbreaking.
Did indeed remind me of the Sophie Lancaster case which, like this, is as harrowing as they come.
RIP Brianna.

Stirred up a lot of emotions on here, it’s just terrible but unfortunately like all crimes Murder will continue to happen for various reasons. Those 15 year olds are on the cusp of being Adults, they must have evil in their bones to do this. Whatever the punishment they get will never be enough, I think these two will be beyond rehabilitation.

They’re going to be named when sentenced next year. It’s just broken on Radio 6.

The fact neither murderer showed any emotion at the guilty verdict indicates they’re just not wired up correctly. It’s a planned murder instigated by hate so a whole life sentence is due.

Live and let live.
Under 18s convicted of murder can’t have a whole life order against them, from what I can see. 30 years max seems to be the highest tariff.

I suspect the boy may be hospitalised forever due to his autism and mutism. The girl seems to also have autism, but lower in the spectrum, so suspect she may get the 30 year sentence.

They definitely are wired differently and the public are at risk, so they are both not seeing the light of day anytime soon.

When reading cases like this it's hard to come to any other conclusion than some people are just born evil.

That poor girl and her poor family. It's heartbreaking.

I’m not sure what naming them achieves. We know nothing about the family circumstances but will be open season on the parents anyway. The public interest is served by removing two murderers from circulation not from opening up the way for vigilantes to harass their families
My thoughts too. They will be known locally anyway but what purpose is served by naming them im not sure

I’m struggling to understand why so many people are so desperate for them to named?

It’ll be the names of two people you don’t know and have never heard of before.

I’m not actively against them being named. It really doesn’t matter either way to me. But I can think of a few things that will likely result from it and they’re all negative.

It’s down to media pressure and the loudest voices amongst public opinion.

The judiciary are too swayed by both these days, rather than doing their job, which is trying to dispense justice.

Like you, can’t see what purpose this serves other than further punishing the families of the cunts that did this, who I think will have suffered enough, and will continue to irrespective of this court order.

This ever increasing spiral of retribution and egregious punishment diminishes us all and clearly isn’t working.

Look at the US. Longer sentences, harsher punishment and the death penalty - and it’s an increasingly dysfunctional society. Does anyone actually think it’s a better functioning society than hours for those things? - because that’s the way we are heading.

But the clamour will continue and things will keep getting worse - and the whole sorry cycle will carry on relentlessly.
