Everton (A) | PL | Post Match Thread

I'll add to that with watching Ederson slide a pass inches from the oppo boot into the midfield!

My heart stops every time but he's nonchalant like 'what's everyone panicking for?'!

The players don't even bother their arses when he does it when I'd be like 'What the Fuck Ed?!! Clear the fucker!'! That man's no good for my heart!
Nor mine. But he is the coolest cookie in the PL.

I keep making the point: we were just about as good in the first half as in the second. That is the plain truth of the matter. Pickford kept us out in the first half. Not in the second (and by the way his mistake is a cumulative result of sustained, relentless pressure — even then Bernardo had a lot to do).
And we made a horrendous mistake in our box in the first half. That is really the sum total of what Everton offered (goodish save from Harrison shortly after it).
Bernardo made the point in an interview a couple of weeks back. It's been fine margins. It really has.

We were fine until the error for their goal, which gave them momentum and did affect City. Having watched some highlights, I do think Rodri may have been pushed but was it enough to send him sprawling?

We have played well in a lot of games, aside from being profligate in front of goal (a constant issue, despite all the scoring records Pep’s team have broken) and, much worse, making costly errors in conceding goals.

Don't know what you're arguing here mate. You surely don't want to be proved right do you? Don't see how that benefits City. No one has blue tinted specs but we have been down this road with several players as I have pointed out.
You surely want the "Nunes may come through given time" posters to be right? So why keep on going on about it after such a good win?
If you're right then fine. It's not the end of the world

I’d love them to be right.

Yes I thought we were poor for 5 mins or so before they scored and then until half time. Did t create much in that time.

Goodison is an awkward and hostile place to go no matter what. Full credit to our lads for bringing home the points but such a shame - again - about Johnny Boulders.

The first half matchday thread was possibly the most bizarre panic I've seen since we thought we couldnt afford the fee for wing commander Terry Cooke, an awful read!

The main observation that for a small man , Phil has one of the most powerful shots in our squad. I can only think of Kev and possibly Rodri with a harder shot.

Thankfully he does seem to be taking more shots from outside the area.

If walker reduces his long range shooting and Foden increase his, we will be all the better for it.

My mate will be happy

Thought it was a brilliant controlled performance even 1st half 1 mistake and we was punished again. But the stats don't lie 73% possession 90% pass completion 2 shots conceded on target this against a team that's playing really well atm. People who are moaning about it being a bit boring and too slow need to realise how hard it is to break down all these teams that play 11 men in there own box against us.

WTF is the controversy over the penalty. It was a goalkeepers save and stonewall since football began. Give me strength.

Nothing to do with the “rules as they now stand are foolish” narrative either. The rules are foolish, by the way, if they mean that a ball can brush any part of your arm with your back half-turned and the ball not even be significantly altered in its trajectory and a penalty is given — but that's not the issue here. That penalty was blocked by an upraised arm that had no business being there. It's a penalty in any version of the game that I've followed in more than fifty years. Story. End of.

I had no idea there was a controversy surrounding the penalty. Anyone that thinks that wasn’t a penalty is a fucking moron.
Same here, it was a shot on target blocked with a hand, it’s absolutely doing my head in, particularly the city fans criticising the decision. I’ve come to expect it from the anti-city pundits.
